Season 12, Week 2
Gilgamesh
(Final Fantasy V)

The many-armed weapon-wielding demon Gilgamesh comes into the arena confident. While his opponent has a large sword, Gilgy has LOTS AND LOTS of various weapons! Clearly winning in the armaments category, the MAN only needs to use them strategically in his slugfest against the curmudgeonly Marsilio. Then, once the going gets tough and both combatants are on their knees, the many-armed myrmidon can bust out his Haste, Protect, Shell and bonecrushing Jump to seal the deal.

Marsilio's first draw in the DL is truly lucky: he fights against a boss who is more known for his comic relief than his powerful attacks. Gilgamesh might have a minor speed edge, but has pitiful damage and durability before gaining access to Jump and support spells near the end of his life - and even then the Wise Man has far superior offense and durability! Indeed, it looks like the close combat Wise Man unit Marsilio is going to advance to the next round, hoping to face a more worthy opponent in the quarterfinals.

Gilgamesh is an excellent PC killer, with not too shabby damage if he isn't facing a high offense boss.

Marsillo, and his Cruelty Rushes attack, defines high offense.

Gilgamesh is a dead multiarmed man walking. Well, walking until he enters the ring to fight Marsillo..

Gilgamesh: 13
Marsilio: 25
