Season 11, Week 1
Kain Highwind
(Final Fantasy IV)

Kain has been humiliated many times, but his downgrade to Light is the last straw. Now, the Dragoon of Baron seeks to rectify his position and advance as far as he can in hopes of catching up to Cecil and Rosa. His opponent this week, Blank, is a basic no-frills fighter... which means he's a prime target for Kain's legendary Jump attack. It should be an easy victory for Kain, but nothing can ever be taken for granted with him.

Tantalus should be delighted this week, as its most competent member is fighting this season. Blank is indeed a lot more valiant than his opponent, who switches sides many times throughout his game. Though he certainly isn't lacking in heroism, he’ll need a lot more than that to bring down the pitiful dragoon. Luckily, he should be able to dispatch his cowardly foe and advance to the quarterfinals with a few well-timed hits and a little luck.

Kain's armour turned the first of Blank's knives and then the second. Blank didn't get a chance to try again; He was defeated the instant Kain came crashing down. When Blank's stitched-together skin rips a seam, Kain advances to week two knowing that a good start is worth almost as much as a mediocre ending.

Kain Highwind: 43
Blank: 4
