Season 9, Week 1
Liz
(Wild Arms 2)

Though Liz may have a wider vocabulary than his monosyllabic partner Ard, it's debatable whether this makes him any easier to understand. The scientist's constant stream of inane babble may turn out to prove as formidable a weapon as his homemade bombs, as there are surely few who can withstand his nonsensical rants. At the very least, any fighter is sure to be a little unhinged at dealing with an opponent as erratic and unpredictable as Liz, and that moment of surprise is all the mad scientist needs to lob in a few explosives and score a win.

If there's anyone out there that can understand just what the heck Liz is saying, it's Keele Zeibel. Indeed, Keele himself has been known to lose his companions in seemingly incoherent babble. A brilliant scholar and fine mage, Keele brings a variety of elemental magics to the table. Not overly horrible at dealing damage, Keele will nonetheless be helped vastly by Liz's tendency to harm himself with his own attacks.

"Your existance is impossible!" Keele exclaimed as he met Liz in the Arena. "According to the Laws of Craymelology, you need at least a 25.73% water craymel..."

"You're wrong! It is you who isn't able to exist! In order for life to even happen, you need a vital factor of..."

"Pshaw! You're wrong, you need..."

"Your theory is ill thought out and..."

By the time the conversation had come this far, the audience fell asleep, lulled by the Trek-nobabble. The debate went well past the setting of the sun, and the two had nearly talked themselves to sleep. In fact, Keele had talked himself to sleep. Proud of himself for out-lasting the Inferian Scholar in a debate, Liz made his way to the arena gates, completely forgetting that he was supposed to be fighting. When the crowd and Keele woke up, Keele was declared the winner by a technical ringout.
