Season 8, Week 3
Kefka
(Final Fantasy VI)

So Kefka's opponent this week can't be hurt by Ultima. That's all right. Kefka can still throw pebbles. Or do origami. Or splatter him into paste with Havok Wing and laugh maniacally. Knowing Kefka, the latter is probably in order. Modern or not, no amount of Insane Clown Posse CDs can prepare Nate for the real thing - and if Kefka's laugh isn't dark magic, nothing is.

Nate struck down one of the RPGDL's most feared fighters last week- a Final Fantasy endgame boss. Having thrashed Ultimecia, Nate sets his sights on another of her ilk this week: the mad clown, Kefka. Unlike Ulti, Kefka's offense isn't completely shut down by Alfred, so Nate will have to work rather a lot harder to win. Not to say that his reflection isn't useful; it stops Kefka's Ultima attack, and sidesteps the powerful Hyperdrive counter. His deep supply of healing and physical damage are as solid as ever, but can young Nanjo stand up to the lord of insanity?

Nate stepped back, and let out a breath of air. That damn clown had proven to be a much tougher fight than he looked. ExorSword and his deep supply of healing had seen him through wave after wave of Havoc Wings. No way could Kefka hold out much longer...

However, the useless Clown just kept on laughing.

"Hehehehehe! Stupid boy. Time to experience the power of non existence!"

Kefka flew up to Nate, and leveled a Havoc Wing. Nate was, of course, ready for this. He grinned, and took the brunt of the attack.

"That all, clown? It's the same sad trick."

What Nate wasn't prepared for was Kefka flying into the air, and preparing his Havok Wing attack again.

"HOW CAN THIS BE?!" The second strike tore Nate in half, giving the demented clown the win.

"Two for the price of one.." Kefka's mad laughter echoed throughout the arena, giving warning to anyone godlike fighter who dared to make a stand against him.

Kefka: 20
Nate Nanjo: 9
