Season 7, Week 5
Orlandu, Cidolfas
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Cidolfas Orlandu has staked his claim as the greatest PC in the history of the RPGDL, and he can cement his position by taking the highest title possible - Godlike Champion. Against Loki, Orlandu has to worry about keeping his HP high, to avoid Loki's powerful array of spells. His shield and armor will reduce Dragon Orb and Extension Force to mere scratches, and with Night Sword and his auto-haste, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. When he gets a free turn, Holy Explosion will be put into play, and that mighty move is enough to makd even the tankish Loki cry.

When he hears the title of Thundergod, Loki's far more likely to think of the warhammer wielding Thor instead of that venerable Ivalician general. Though, given how well Orlandu has done, he might be able to fill the shoes of his divine namesake. Unfortunatly for T.G. Cid, Loki's left behind his tricks and taken up the Dragon Orb - one of the four sacred treasures - and gained power greater than any Thundergod. He intends to prove this with the powerful Dragon Orb attack, as well as the feared Indiscriminate which will blast Cid with four random spells. Cidolfas Orlandu is indeed the most powerful of mortals; but in this Final, Loki shall prove that even the strongest of mortals is still no match for the divine.

Kanos
Orlandu vs. Loki is a very tough fight.

Loki has his ridiculous durability and his powerful spells going for him. However, due to the fact that Orlandu's equipment allows him to power his way through Loki's defense to some degree and keep Loki's array of magic from harming him too badly, Orlandu can slug his way to victory on the wings of Night Sword and Holy Explosion.

Orlandu, Cidolfas: 26
Loki: 18

Semifinal
Honestly now, Orlandu never should've made it past Necron. Now Loki is going to show him the difference between being a God and merely calling yourself one. And by "showing him the difference being a God and merely calling yourself one," I mean that he's going to smite him soundly.

Sir Chris
Loki seems impressive to me, but really, Orlandu is broken to hell and his abilitiy as well as his weaponry put him over the top, no question about it.

Sarcazmo
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah......Rightyo. Cid...is broken. We all know this.

Major Damage
Oh, please. Yeah, Orlandu and his Night Sword rock. But I don't really think that he will last long against Loki, even with an Angel Ring. I mean, Indiscriminate is a SURE kill.

metroid composite
Let's get two things straight. First, Orlandu can deal non-negligible damage to C-Ending Freya. Barely, mind you, but Lawfer can do it thanks to having a better weapon than the rest of the VP cast, thus Orlandu can do it, having a better weapon than the rest of the FFT cast. If he can hurt C-Freya at all then his damage to Loki will be pretty decent...so Night Sword will keep him healed.

Second, you can solo Loki fairly easily in-game...without the use of Guts or Angel Curios. It's called Auto-Item; Carnage Anthem, Extension Force, and Dragon Orb won't be killing in one hit, and thus get insta-healed. Indiscriminate you say? Loki can only use Indiscriminate in the first quarter of the battle, after which he is locked down to weaker spells. Even if he does get lucky and use it first quarter, he still has to get through Mirror of Pleiades and elemental defence (Orlandu's equivalents being Ageis Shield, Holy-absorbing Excalibur, and White Robe if he uses it).

So...Orlandu deals enough damage to get through the first quarter of the match quickly, much like in-game, and he pulls off enough healing to outlast Loki, much like in-game. In this case I guess "old man" really does take out "god among gods".
