Midget Tossing
Sue/Puffy vs. Umaro/Mog vs. Bowser/Mario vs. Ganz/Maru
~OK

Once again, it's championship time for the RPGDL's most glorious sport: Midget Tossing! Four teams of midgets and their respective tossers have made their way past the rabble to the the championships, and each team possess something unique that might just give them the victory:

Team Grandia, composed of Sue and Puffy, is by far the lightest of the teams. Puffy in particular is an exceptional contender, as s/he is perfectly streamlined for flight. Though Sue isn't the strongest thrower around, Puffy gives this team a great advantage.

Hailing from Narshe is Team Final Fantasy Six, composed of the yeti Umaro and Moogle Mog. An experienced team, it's well-balanced in most categories, with a strong thrower and moderate weight throwee.

Team Mario brings us last year's champions, the evil turtle Bowser and his fat plumber friend Mario. Able to call on three years of experience and two championships during that time, Team Mario has the definite experience advantage here.

And finally, newcomers Ganz and Maru are here to showcase the power of Team Arc the Lad Four. Ganz is a very strong thrower, which, combined with the very light Maru, might allow them to overcome the opposition.

All four teams are allowed three throws, where the farthest one is the one judged. Each team is also allowed to use one tool to aid them, though only once.

Which midget gets thrown the farthest?

  • Sue and Puffy take the gold
  • Umaro and Mog crush the rest
  • Bowser and Mario win it the old school way
  • Ganz and Maru overwhelm their opponents

Umaro does a feat rarely seen in the RPGDL. Not only does he manage to beat one of the feared Breath of Fire dragons, he manages to _eat_ every projectile thrown out. So while Sue cries and Bowser laughs, Umaro tosses Mog three feet and wins the bonus match.

Sue/Puffy: 6
Umaro/Mog: 13
Bowser/Mario: 11
Ganz/Maru: 1

Unless another competitor can access infinite flight capabilities, Mario and Bowser simply can't lose this competition. The power of the P-Wing propels them to victory, post-haste.

Anyone who has looked at the velocity at which Umaro sends his allies flying towards the enemy in FF6 will know that he has this in the bag. With a simple push his allies gain awesome speed and are still going upwards when they hit the enemies. I don't know about you, but I can throw further than I can push so if Umaro were to do that I'm guessing he'll be tossing Mog back in FF5.
