Season 57, Week 5
Ike
(Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance)

Ike, mercenary badass and legendary swordsman, has reached the Heavy finals at last. All that stands between him and the glory of a title is a single little kid. A very sturdy kid, but a kid nonetheless. With Ike's Ragnell attacks flying off at breakneck pace thanks to doubling, his counters giving him an edge in slugfests, and some evasion to take the bite out of Ness' magical offense, Ike is set up to do what he does best: shred whatever stands in his way while taking hits like a real man would. And with the extra ace in the hole of Aether or even just a critical hit, Ike is in place to take home a Heavy championship belt... which is only right, since it probably wouldn't even fit Ness.

Ness has escaped from that crazy orphanage of Edea's free of permanent damage, and soon he’ll escape this undeserved trip to Heavy. After spending most of his DL life in Godlike, Ness is determined to earn his way back there. Ike may be a tough opponent, but Ness has put down plenty of those this season. Ike’s reliance on physical damage will quickly spell trouble for the swordsman thanks to Ness’ massive HP, plentiful full healing, and Shield Beta to not only halve the damage but even send some of the pain back to Ike. Of course, Ness will also be throwing out a barrage of accurate status spells, making it difficult for Ike to even find the turns to attack him to begin with!

All the Ragnell charges and Aether's in the world can't save Ike from Ness' ridiculous resources and unevadable damage. Good showing in heavy though this season.
