Season 57, Week 3
Cloud of Darkness
(Final Fantasy III)

Who's crazier? Lambda's a fool to tangle with the Cloud of Darkness. Sure, his plan to help humanity evolve past some obscure failings using massive global catastrophe is pretty crazy, but come on, the Cloud tops that. She wanted to drag all existence into the void before it became stylish! And everyone knows that the craziest person wins. Failing that, Cloud's tentacles give her three actions a turn to break through Lambda's pathetic "trick." If he can see the future, then he can see that he has no shot of destroying the Cloud before she breaks his frail body like a twig. And now, to return to her plans to unseat that *other*, more famous Cloud in Dissidia... it'll happen, some day!

The leader of Brionac, the Shining Spear That Pierces the Darkness, shall face off against true darkness this week, much to his unbridled chagrin. A miasma of darkness, hoping to lead the world astray onto a perilous path of ruin... but, if Lambda has anything to say about it, no, life won't be led into the chasm! To defend the virtue of the world... to lead all brave life that roams the earth onto the glorious path of light, he shall bear any shame and condemnation, redeeming his beloved people! Even the undying embarrasment that come with beating up a naked woman, actually. But no matter. Lambda's Blue Destiny shall light the way to victory as he brings down this abomination.

It's a well known fact that Lambda's true power isn't seeing the future, but crying. What's less known is how this power translates into his legendary ability to avoid blows.

You see, without realizing it himself, Lambda's tears give him unparalleled peripheral vision. The reflective and refractive qualities of his manly waterworks give him multiple angles on any incoming attack from anywhere but directly behind him, and after years of learning to fight under these conditions, Lambda actually learned to correctly read these myriad motion.

Unfortunately for him, the Cloud of Darkness easily circumvents this impressive, if somewhat demeaning, talent. Because, of course, she's hardly limited to attacking from a single direction. A betentacled warrior such as herself can, while attacking from the front, also attack from the side, from above, from directly behind. Faced with nightmare assault from every direction, Lambda lost all control of his power and blinded himself completely with his tears, in fact losing all ability to react whatsoever. Not that his usual talent would have been useful against, y'know, nightmare tentacle rape, but it would have probably been a bit less embarassing.
