Season 6, Week 3
Seymour
(Final Fantasy X)

Seymour relies on his powerful quadracasting to win matches, and this one is no different. His powerful magics will blast through Zophar, and his own high defense and status immunity will prevent him from being knocked out by Zophar's elemental spells. The Maester's offense should be enough to beat Zophar within a few turns, and earn him a win.

The one, the only, he who so many fear to fight, Zophar. While Zophar's moves aren't impressive on the whole, there is one that tips the scale - the reused Fate Storm animation that deals incredibly crushing damage to whatever gets in its path. It's become notorious as why Zophar is a nightmare draw. And while Zophar's opponent isn't really heavy in the HP department, Zophar himself is no slouch there, and Zophar will be able to take those -aga spells for much longer than the good Maester will be able to take what may be the most damaging attack he's ever faced.

Seymour had another plan. He wasn't going to defeat Zophar in single combat, oh no. He had a better idea. The same idea, in fact, that he had attempted with Sin back in Spira before being so rudely interrupted. Nothing was stopping him this time.

With a wave of his hand, the Summoner dissolved into a stream of pyreflies, and directed himself to the one place he knew Zophar would never suspect him to be. Deep inside the monster's massive body. Reforming, he allowed himself a smug smile. Victory would be his.

"... what are you doing here?" came a voice. It was a young Karayan, a boy from what some in the DL referred to playfully as 'the Suikoverse'. Seymour recognised him as Hugo, another member of the DL. Seymour idly wondered how this boy had come to be here, but paid that thought no more heed as he took the opporunity to exposit to someone, anyone, about his great plan.

"What am I doing? I am part of Zophar, I am one with Zophar... forever!"

"Zophar just absorbed you," said the boy simply.

"I will learn to control him... from within! I have all the time in the world! Since you were gracious enough to dispose of Hiro, the only means of destroying Zophar... is forever gone!"

"Um, Hugo, I mean, I, lost to Hi-" the boy began, but Seymour wasn't paying attention.

"Now nothing can stop us!"

"Well I can," said Hugo.

"By all means, try!" said Seymour, adopting his Omnis form and preparing a quadracast.

"If you insist..." said 'Hugo', as his form rippled into a highly androgynous, four-armed humanoid. "Die yet again, mortal," said Zophar to a shocked Seymour as he attacked.

One Fate Storm later, and yet another Seymour plan had been undone. "Well, that went well enough," muttered Zophar to himself. "Still, I wonder why Seymour didn't fall for my bait with the attractive underaged boy? The creepy voice, the choice of marriage partner, the mommy issues... could I have been wrong about him, even based on that evidence...?"
