Season 55, Week 4
Edge Eblan
(Final Fantasy IV)

Ninja vs Ninja; this is surely the highlight of this week in the DL. Prince Edge did what he did best- no, not getting turned into cinders by Rubicant, but defeating a foe in combat. Edge's brutal, relentless fighting style's earned him win after win in the arena and now he gets to practice those skills on Kasumi. This may be the easiest fight Eblan's royal badass and whipping boy has had this season, as Kasumi lacks any type of status protection or even the overwhelming physical power of Debonair. One scratch of Edge's patented Catclaw strike will put her to sleep with immense ease, and a hail of Fumas afterward will destroy the gorgeous but -very- outmatched girl from Rokkaku.

Ninja against ninja. Kasumi has to respect the skills of her opponent in this match, but...she really does wish she were against someone else. Like, say, any other of her fellow ninjas in the entire league. It's not that she's afraid of Edge, it's more that she's already dealt with one pervert this season and really isn't in the mood to deal with someone else who will be more interested in copping a feel then fighting. Oh well, it's nothing a few Shrike Rune powered pile drivers won't fix, and since Kasumi has the speed advantage in this fight she'll get the opportunity to deliver them. The ninja prince's reign of perverted terror shall soon be over, and women the world over will rejoice.

"So," Yuri asked, as he plopped onto the couch across from Edge, "Was it worth it?"

Edge, calmly cleaning and oiling his weapons, didn't look up. "Which part? The part where I let her hit me with a shrike powered suplex so I could cop a feel? Yes it was, even if it took me a few minutes to remove my head from the arena floor."

Smirking, Yuri shook his head. "No, no, I'm talking about how after Kasumi fled the arena in horror, the McDohl kid jumped in from nowhere and launched four consecutive Judgments on you."

Edge frowned as he sharpened one of his shuriken. "Well, you know, those Judgment spells are a little overrated -- you don't even really FEEL the second one and--"

Yuri waved off Edge's point with a free hand. "And even so, the kid would still probably be wailing on you with that staff of his if that guy in the green cloak hadn't pulled him off you."

Yuri leaned forward. "Not to mention how all the ninjas in Rokkaku are even now still hunting you."

And here the two froze for a moment, as they heard a sound. Yes, the undisclosed location they were meeting at was a highly guarded secret of the perverts of the league... but it wasn't like ninjas didn't make a habit of ferreting out secrets.

After a moment, both of them visibly relaxed, as the expected swarm of ninjas never materialized. Edge resumed his work. "And it's not the entire village," he protested sulkily. "I know for a fact that they aren't sending the children and the elderly."

The expression on Yuri's face displayed how much difference that made in his opinion. "At any rate," Yuri finished, leaning back again "was all THAT worth it?"

At this Edge finally looked up from what he had been doing. He grinned. "YES."
