Season 6, Week 2
Gryz
(Phantasy Star 4)

Gryz is what we'd call a typical Motavian; slow, strong, and furry. While the furry part might keep Marivel from attempting to suck his blood, it'll be the power he puts behind his axe swings that propels him to victory in this match. Gryz's axe swings hurt, and his opponents feel the pain when he connects even though he's not exactly the most lithe and agile fighter in the world. And if he's not in the mood for a prolonged battle, his Crash ability gives him a chance to end the battle early before Marivel can get a chance to fight back. No matter what path to victory he decides on, Gryz looks to be in a good position to win his first match this season.

Marivel is faster than Gryz. Memorise that fact, since it might be crucial in the Crimson Noble's match against the Motavian. Simply put, this is a quickdraw of instant death... neither fighter is immune, and both are vulnerable to the other's fatal blow: Gryz' Crash hits Marivel's low defence, and Marivel's Guillotine hits Gryz' low magic defence. And while the bad news for Marivel is that Gryz undoubtedly has the more accurate one-shot kill, the good news is, as mentioned before, that she has the first shot at it...

Ruinchaser
Marivel didn't need any of her skills to win this match. Instead, she drew herself up in her cloak, posed dramatically, and said in her best Romanian accent: I VANT TO SUCK YOUR BLOOD! BLEH! BLEH! Gryz had a heart attack from laughing so hard.
