Season 54, Week 1
Baal
(Grandia)

General of the Garlyle Forces, Ba’al is well acquainted with the intricacies of power. As a top commander, he was able to control the fates of entire countries; as a top fighter, he could ensure that anyone who took a stand directly against him meets a cruel end. While Ba’al may not be the most damaging or the most durable, his physical does cause very severe random statuses. As sad as Kain’s lance swipes are, they surely beat what he can do while paralyzed, confused, or asleep. Even should Kain get turns, Ba’al has healing to counteract Kain’s jumps. There’s a reason Ba’al was a general while Kain was just a single soldier.

Kain's faced disgrace before, from turning traitor to the shameful downgrade in the distant past of the DL. He's now one of the lowest ranked Middles around, and is going up against the highest rated fighter this season – Bwahahaha, BA’AL!? That is the best Middle has to offer this season? The gods are smiling upon Baron's Dragoon for once as he battles a foe known for being outwitted by Justin and outslugged by a Phantasy Star mage. Kain is faster and has excellent durability, which is all you need against someone as inept at offense as Mullen's father. Redemption is at hand for Kain at long last!

Unfortunately, Kain betrayed his team before the match.

Baal wins.

Of course, Kain technically wins too, but when you win that way, you're definitely a loser.
