Season 53, Week 4
Zophar
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

This punk high school kid from Inaba exterminated Spira's last hope in a hit and slaughtered Avril's darker half. Big freaking deal. Lunar's destroyer has killed and maimed fighters far before Souji stormed the DL proper and caused this uproar. Seta's talents are truly awe-inspiring, but they aren't enough to stop Zophar's tear. The one thing that can slow down and defeat Souji is debilitating status, which Zophar has in spades. A quick Status Ball should disable Souji in a flash, and even if the kid can somehow resist or avoid Zophar's unerring curses, the durability and innate toughness that was blessed upon Zophar's monstrous frame is more than enough to withstand a hit or two of whatever Souji can dish out. With his fellow lunar villain Ghaleon down for the count, it's easy sailing for Zophar - once he takes out Souji, that is!

The fighter of many faces squares off against the fighter of many arms this week! Now all the DL needs is a fighter with many legs and it could have one killer bonus match! 5+ legs, of course, those damned Centaurs never count. Between summonables and alternate dimensions, Souji's opponents this season have sure had some unique powers, but this time around he'll be facing off against good ol' fashioned sealed evil and endurance in a can. Each of Zophar's arms packs a heck of a nasty surprise, representing a tough hurdle in the way of Souji bringing home the gold for Inaba. However, the high schooler's bag of tricks is impossibly deep indeed. Impressive MT damage is as easy as eating a bottomless beefbowl for him! Be it elemental, physical or otherwise, it's just one trip to the Velvet Room away! And maybe when Souji emerges victorious, Zophar will have to be carted off to a padded room as he realizes what it means to be defeated by a PC!

Things that you never want to see:

Souji, Kanji, Yosuke and Teddie in bikinis facing off against Zophar.

The guys weren't really trying to win, mind. Souji was well aware of Zophar's reputation and decided his run was good enough as it stood.

That, and it wasn't their idea to be in bikinis. That one falls solely on the giggling trio of Yukiko, Chie and Aigis.

...Wait, Aigis?

----------

"Zophar's combat capability down 72% due to confusion. Initiating Shadow capture program."

----------

The resulting mess of Aigis summoning Lucifer and immediately doing a combo attack (accidentally) with Souji's Satan leveled most the battlefields in the area, also nuking Zophar.

Still, Zophar won due to outside interference. So all's well that ends well for pure destruction?

Zophar: 19
Souji Seta: 18

I will not bother to mince words.

Nor will I bother to insult anyone's intellect with my debate skills.

I will simply vote for Souji as you might have heard.

Because seeing a possible SMT final would be a thrill.

Zophar was in disbelief. It wasn't possible. There was no way..and yet...

And yet, he was beaten. In being beaten he had forgotten the ultimate rule of the Evil Overlord.

"This cannot be. I AM INVINCIBLE." And thus, the Hassou Tobi dropped on him, and Zophar snuffed it.
