Season 53, Week 3
Mallow
(Super Mario RPG)

Mallow puffs his way through the opposition, and his newest foe will be... oh dear, Shion Uzuki is his sister? Poor Jin. This doesn't mean Mallow will pity him enough to throw the match, though! While Jin may even be a fancy swordsman, his attacks are... actually inept. His Stock building might even give him actual offense through prolonged strings, but it's terrible that he needs to do basically nothing for quite some time to build those up. Meanwhile, Mallow can drop a few lightning bolts on him! And whenever he's actually hurt, Mallow can simply cast HP Rain and keep himself healthy for far better effects than Jin'sMedica spell. This is a cakewalk, and the sweet marshmallow from Nimbus Land is sure to win!

...this is ridiculous. A marshmallow is Jin's enemy in battle? His blade is a sword for dicing robots, not a knife for cooking ingredients! Right then. Mallow's poor damage, compared with Jin's fine durability, means that the little puff will need quite a few strikes to take Jin out. And Mallow is sadly on the slow side, as well. This is a Bad Thing against Jin's ability to stock repeatedly, then send Mallow flying into the sky for some horrific, combo-like overkill. What use is healing against an opponent who can save turns and destroy you easily in one elegant yet fatal flurry? That probably sends sugar flying everywhere? Now Jin will have to get his stylish robe dry-cleaned. Bah, this is a disgrace.

Snowfire

To make this Light season more interesting, it was decided that giant mechs should be legal for this match. Jin had one ready, of course, but what about Mallow...?

As it happens, Mallow might not have the power of the legendary "Chu-ansformation," but he can become a decent impersonation of the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man which menaced New York. Impressive! Certainly enough to crush puny mortals. Sadly, marshmallow is still not the most durable substance out there, especially to E. S. Reuben's custom blade. Not a hot knife through butter, but close enough, no?
