Season 53, Week 1
Garet
(Golden Sun)

What more can be said about Garet's incredible run to a Light title last season? Oh right, one simple thing- fail, Garet. Isaac's best friend came up a little short in the upgrade pool and is in fact relegated to the lowest division in the DL once again. It just means that Garet will have to pound his way through Light one more time before upgrading. That's easy enough. This fool Kahn is no match for the power of Garet's mind (...). A little delusion will screw Kahn's offense up beyond belief, and he has no defense against Garet's other status abiltiies or his powerful psyenergy attack magic. Time to take another crack at light- and this time Garet won't stop until he upgrades to his rightful division!

It is a Man's job to take down one who is as proficient with Fire! Especially when this opponent is a returning champ! And guess what Kahn is? A MAN! Not just any man, BUT A MAN'S MAN! Tiger Fist here! Focus there! Flexing galore! Nothing shall stop the awesome might of this mighty, powerful Sailor (wannabe)! Having guarded Marlock's mansion, and trained under the great masters of Una and Kyrik for some unspecified period of time, NOTHING shall stand in Kahn's way! But no, what truly gives Kahn strength in his manliness is that for every time Kahn falls, he just gets back up to ...get beaten again! ...while he doesn't know how that's an advantage, he's sure he'll find a way to apply it...

Gatewalker
Kahn is a man's man. He's a fighter, he's a contender, the man does not know when to quit. Throughout the course of his game he comes back over and over and over, never willing to admit defeat. Such determination is a thing of legend, and truly a quality for him to be proud of.

So how, how how how, could the great Kahn ever be outmatched at his own game?

"So, we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"Of course not! You have no chance!"

"So we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"Never! I will never admit defeat!"

"So, we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"You've sure got a lot of nerve saying that."

"So, we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"..."

"So, we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"Stop saying that!"

"So, we both know I'm going to win, right?"

"AAAAAAAAGH!!!!"

Obviously the above was just a small sampling of that conversation. It took well over sixteen hours for Garet to actually out-stubborn Kahn, but at the end of the day the more pigheaded man went home with the win.
