Season 52, Week 4
Zophar
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

The duties of a God - pleasing the minions and worshippers with yet another example of raw power is so boring, yet, at the same time, so very exciting. Crushing posers is one of Zophar's favourite jobs, and crushing this cat who aspires to godhood will be supremely satisfying. Meager psychic powers against the might of a true destroyer? Please. No matter how great his mental shielding is, there is one truth in Godlike - nothing can withstand the raw destructive power of even a single Hell Storm. All Mewtwo's efforts this season… a complete waste. A shame, really, as Zophar's been looking for a real fight all season - but no matter. Easy, breezy, beautiful Covergirl - just the way he likes it - will suffice until he can face some real opposition next week.

Hmph. Maybe Mewtwo is finally starting to get the respect he deserves. The semi-finals is at least beginning to be a round worthy of his interest. Mewtwo has already effortlessly dispatched two pretenders, and he is pleased that his next opponent is none other than the dreaded Zophar. Just the type of opponent Mewtwo can make an example of. Poor fool. He must have no idea what happens to mages who dare take on Mewtwo, especially after the kitty uses Amnesia to buff his magical resistance to astronomical levels. Better yet, the very same move powers up his psychic abilities as well, which will leave Zophar open to defeat from a single blast from Mewtwo's powerful mind. Tremble in terror, "Godlike", your new champion has arrived.

Meeplelard
Zophar didn't understand what was going on. Mewtwo wasn't dying to any of his attacks! He kept firing off volley after volley, but the moves seemed to be ineffective. Eventually, Zophar just dropped to Mewtwo's assault.

To everyone's shock, Mewtwo had defeated Zophar!!!

...that is until Mewtwo grabbed the mike and spoke into it...telepathically...(yes, Mewtwo's THAT TALENTED that he can amplify his MIND on a Microphone), where he admitted to cheating, in he had asked a certain Magitek General to constantly keep Runic Barriers up during every single shot; being the DL Judge that he is, he can't realistically claim victory off something like this.

Why would he admit to doing something like? For starters, Mewtwo has pride and brains. He knows he can't beat Zophar, and he'd get splattered if he tried seriously. On the otherhand, he just can't simply GIVE UP after coming this far. So he takes the simple medium of Win Through Losing.

No one quite understands this logic, but then, trying to understand the logic of a genetically enhanced psychic freak is probably not the best of things to attempt.
