Season 49, Week 3
Lavos
(Chrono Trigger)

All of an entire solar system's life and dreams... all are to be absorbed by the unending, unquenchable parasitic hunger of the great Lavos. Facing off against an equally voracious sentience, the destroyer of planets has little to fear: not only is Heat amongst a far inferior power scale from Lavos, the devourer of history has a bevy of tools to handle the demon's gimmicks. Tentacles? They can face the horror of Dreamless or Grand Stone, as well as Lavos' own multiple parts for extra annoyance. Durability? It holds no candle against Lavos' breakneck speed. As such, the fire beast can't really handle Lavos, here or in another dimension. Let the carnage begin!

Vritra's neverending hunger meets a rather unsightly course meal this week: while a giant chicken would be quite appetizing to your typical gourmet, a one-eyed astronaut-like giant chicken carrying the data of entire planets under its body could cause stomachaches even to godlike demons. Which is to say Heat's going to just burn this loser to a crisp instead of devouring it whole: with his bevy of spells such as Gelid Torrent, Inferno, Agidyne and Debilitate, the digital devil will cause hell to the overgrown space fowl in a hurry, sporting a hefty durability edge over Lavos' frail core. Next week, however, the bearer of Vritra shall sate his murderous desire for flesh!

"Rend... slaughter... devour your enemies!"

No two fighters propagate this more than Lavos and Heat. What better way to judge their power than their ability to eat and consume? The extraterrestrial being exists only to eat everything throughout all time, destroying everything in a nihilistic desire to consume. Heat doesn't consume because of a silly ideology, but instead to survive and thrive. The power of Atma has cursed him with an endless desire to feed, and blessed him with the power to take all he sees. Lavos eats throughout the ages. Heat exists in a short silver of time, a piece of data in Jenna Angel's twisted universe and existing with the power of Vritia for even shorter amounts of time.

Heat may burn brightly and incinerate his entire world, but it's only a brief flare. Lavos will be silently attacking and consuming long after Heat's been sent back to the sun for reincarnation.
