Season 48, Week 3
Fou-Lu
(Breath of Fire IV)

Fou-Lu is indeed Godlike. In every sense of the word. From his power as part of the Infinity Dragon to his staggering 25-4 record - not to mention he has never lost before the final round of any given run - to the constant worship from his supporters. It all points to his might - and that's ignoring the raw physical prowess at his disposal. How will this upsurper Heat fare, then? Not well, Fou'd gather. His Lightning weakness is quite exploitable by the Endless, and few are better than the dragon god at taking punishment. A Dark Wave or three will incinerate this young man and put Fou-Lu on a reliable, steady pace for yet another Godlike championship.

Many duelers would grimly shrink against an esteemed champion such as Fou-Lu. Heat, however, has seen his share of crazy, mindbreaking enemies and lived. Of course, Heat became powerful enough to be noted as a mindbreaking entity himself, Vritra being the bane of just about every devil tuner in the world of Digital Devil Saga. To make things better, Vritra is very well-suited to take on Fou-Lu. With his regenerating tentacles absorbing any damage, Heat matches up well against the Endless, and multiple magical elements plus doubleacting let the atma user overtake Fou Lu on the offense. The Dragon God might as well retire to his coffin-like temple this week.

Fou had quickly forfeited the match as he heard one thing:

Fangirls of a given...persuasion...would be rigging and judging the match.

...and Vritra had tentacles.

While Fou was willing to win matches, even his dignity had limits.
