Season 47, Week 2
Aeris Gainsborough
(Final Fantasy VII)

Epic battles between underdogs are Epic indeed. It’s a tough world when you virtually have to scrape and claw your way to victory but Aeris is no stranger to hardships. When your life is practically a constant battle of evading evil forces trying to get you out of their way, what’s trading a few physical pokes back and worth for a while? Emphasis on a while. There is one difference between the underdogs though. After taking all the poking she can take, Aeris will be able to heal by drawing on her hidden skills - the skills that she has when pushed to the limit - and thus will be able to take even more punishment. Rinse and Repeat as needed. Ruprecht, on the other hand, has no such option. Whilst Aeris keeps herself going by alternating between attacking and healing, Ruprecht will have no way to recover and he will eventually fall. Slowly but surely, Aeris will whittle him down.

Everyone's favorite whipping boy of the Wise Men is back for a season in Light! As a testament to his incredible skills, he is facing one of the most deadly of foes... a flower girl! Killing a helpless maiden is a great start in the direction of greatness! And it will put him in quite exclusive company, at the very least! Unfortunately, his sword isn't quite long enough for the one hit kill; so instead he'll have to rely on his slugging power to force past her limit healing. He definitely has the speed and mobility on Aeris, who will probably end up tripping over her own dress. A paltry staff isn't quite enough to down one of God's Ten Wise Men, even though a light breeze might suffice in some circumstances - though not Ruprecht's, of course! This is Ruprecht's chance to shine and show to the other nine that he too can be as evil as they!

In many ways, this match could be seen as a religious gathering. God's Ten Wise Men drips with religious symbolism and Aeris has holy themed limit breaks, especially in Great Gospel. Like any religious event, this will draw the faithful from far and wide; but you must understand the crowd. This is a group from RPGs and they see a dainty woman defending herself against a dirty old man?

Take a wild guess on what's going to happen next.

Aeris Gainsborough: 39
Ruprecht: 25

Seeing Ruprecht beaten around with an umbrella would be a funny sight wouldn't it?

That was not to happen. While Ruprecht sending in Jibril to stand in for him was both highly illegal and an instant DQ, it was worth it to torment Cloud. Both Cloud sobbing upon seeing Aeris eaten and watching him try to injure Jibril when the glutton was protected by also illegal plot powers.

For all intents and purposes, SO2 wisemen are utter and complete jokes barring a few of them.

Good thing Aerith is a bigger joke, huh?
