Season 47, Week 2
Orlandu, Cidolfas
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Thunder God Cid. Orlandu, wielder of the famed Excalibur, or at least Ivalice's version of it. Master of a dizzying variety of swordskills. He has returned to the arena, and Godlike quakes at his presence. His first match is against a paltry fortune-teller, a girl whose claim to fame is fawning at the feet of men more powerful than she. With his lightning speed he shall unleash a dizzying number of strikes upon the woman's sluggish frame, and if by some chance her status gets past an Aegis Shield, she shall not manage to incapacitate the Thunder God before he recovers and unleashes his feared Night Sword, regaining all of what was lost. This fight is over already; pity her false gift of foresight, for it cannot show her this!

This'll be it. It's this season for sure. Now is the time for Royce to follow up her long-ago conquest of Heavy with a much-deserved Godlike title! Hey, Royce is a fortune-teller, you know. If she says she saw it in her crystal ball, it must be true! And it's not like she can have Xenobia thinking the two of them are equals, after all. (Not that they actually dislike each other, but a professional rivalry is a good motivating force!) One day yet she'll prove to Ghaleon that she's his most reliable servant! As for this week's fight? Royce will just laugh off Cid's opening strike - powerful, but not remotely enough to win - before she incapacitates him with Flame Bird and then crushes him with Shoot Lancer, just like she would any other PC. Yawn.

DragonKnight Zero
It was admittedly a longshot not even certain to work. But with no hope of dealing out enough punishment by standard damage dealing, T.G. Cid was willing to resort to a gamble.

"Shellbust Stab!"

Moments later, a pack of horny men (and a few women) mobbed Royce.

"Does this constitute interference?" inquired Lavitz from the judges' box.
"They trampled Orlandu on the way so I guess it doesn't really matter. Seeing as he was knocked out first" replied Cecelia.

Orlandu, Cidolfas: 22
Royce: 43

Xeroma
An old man versus a young witch. Surely, this would imply an obvious matchup.

However, Orlandeau is a gentleman of the highest caliber, and is very straight laced and serious in battle no matter how attractive the opposition may be.

Too bad Royce has Flame Bird cheese. Mmm, cheese.

The great battle between Orlandu and Royce came down to one thing:

Who could beat the other stupid whilst said other was in a burlap sack?

Given the amount of experience Royce had with said talent... she handily won...

Setting the burlap bag on fire, while a nice cosmetic touch, is still in poor sportsmanship... but whatever...
