Season 46, Week 3
Geshp
(Shining Force 2)

Fresh from his victory over a weakling of an opponent who needs to take large amounts of damage to get anything done, the Greater Devil Geshp faces... wait. Is this a joke? Yes, the second verse is indeed the same as the first: Maxim is completely unthreatening to any Heavy, let alone one who deserves an upgrade as badly as Zeon's great lieutenant, until he has taken a large amount of damage to build up IP. Too bad for him, then, that Geshp's dreaded doublecast Freeze 4 will chill Maxim into a popsicle before he can even dream of getting his game started. Maxim's total lack of resistance to the ice element makes Geshp's match this week even easier than the last. At this rate, nothing will stop Geshp from returning to his rightful division!

A demonic underling serving a greater, mostly unseen evil. Mmmmhmmmmmm. This sounds very suspiciously familiar. And for a good reason - Maxim sent Daos and company packing in his own world with a few slashes of his Dual Blade, in a situation very similar to what he sees in this fight. Why should Geshp, the goblin-like flunky of the elusive Zeon, be any different from the Sinistrals? Well, with that in mind, the solution will be simple. Maxim boasts his usual excellent (if IP-bound) skillset and solid all around stats, along with a weapon that was created specifically to kill creatures of pure evil like the malevolent Geshp. This is the quite of match that's best suited to a hero, and there are none more heroic than Maxim, the savior from Elcid.

Taishyr
Both duelers sent proxies to the match.

Maxim sent Selan, quite the capable fighter in her own right.

Geshp, anticipating this development, sent Sarah.

Maxim's still furious that they eloped together and didn't bring him along. Geshp is on the record as saying that Maxim "seems to have missed the lack of a point".

Geshp: 26
Maxim: 17
