Season 46, Week 2
Zidane Tribal
(Final Fantasy IX)

A beast man! As someone who appears to be a half-monkey at the very least, Zidane is well acquinted with fellow beast men. Of course, unlike Kimahri, who is a run of the mill Ronso who appears to have lost that horn of his, Zidane was built to be an angel of Death. Sure, Zidane may have failed on that task (like on so many, many others), but he still has the skills to take down Kimahri. His trademark Soul Blade attacks should be perfect for getting past Kimahri’s Evade and Counter trickery, and it’s Doom effect should spell out the end of the blue summoner easily. After so many failed attempts in the arena, Zidane is finally ready to truly prove just how dangerous he actually is.

Hey there, who are you calling “Hornless!?” Better that than a monkey. A monkey. A source of entertainment, something that people tend to point and laugh at. Kimahri, on the other hand, is a mythological lion-type being with wings, something that people respect. The lack of a horn means nothing. He has wings. Wings! This noble creature should have no problems teaching Zidane that the dueling arena is no place for monkey business, as his evade and counter tactics frustrate Zidane to defeat. With physical as well as magic/skill evasion factors Kimahri will send Zidane fleeing from the arena with his tail between his legs... if he isn’t laughed out of the arena first. A monkey. Seriously.

Zidane stood silently, Ultima Weapon at the ready, as he looked over the field solemnly at Kimahri.

Kimahri's face was stony in reply as he looked back at the monkey warrior.

Magus looked the two over carefully and with some disdain. "If you two rabble are ready... begin." With that, he stepped out of the circle.

Kimahri lunged forward with the grace of a serpent amongst the grass. But Zidane was faster.

"HOLY CRAP IS THAT YUNA UP THERE BEING KIDNAPPED BY SEYMOUR?"

Kimahri paused, eyes on Zidane. "Fight."

"I'm not kiddin' ya, man - it really is her!" Zidane held his arms up in surrender. "Honest!"

Kimahri turned and looked up. Then squinted. Then, "... Hold on, Yuna!" he yelled.

"I'm coming with, too!" Zidane said, following the Ronso out of the arena.

The stories of Kimahri, Zidane, and later members Tatsuya Suou and Spar, as they chased down Seymour, have served to inspire many a generation to make sure they can differentiate between Yuna being kidnapped by Seymour and Yuna kidnapping Seymour.

Turns out she was a bit angry over the whole unsent thing. Also got a bit angry over the group barging in, but after five Holys each to the face she forgave them. Somewhat.
