Season 45, Week 4
Ayla
(Chrono Trigger)

Ayla smash puny Heavy! The cavewoman with a bizarre accent and rather poor grammar has Triple Kicked the opposition into submission thus far, and she's quite ready to do it again! And, again, she faces a strong woman in a true battle of will! However, things might be different - after all, princess Garnet is a dedicated mage, while the pirate Kika was more in line with Ayla's straight slugfesting style. But there's little to worry about - Ayla's Bronze Fist will confuse Garnet and stop her from using her extensive magical skill set, and the Vigil Hat will protect Ayla from Garnet's status magic if push comes to shove. Not to mention that, unlike the prehistorical village chief, Garnet is rather frail. A couple Triple Kicks should send 'er packing in no time!

Oh look, it's another purely physical fighter against Garnet. But this one is being a clever little monkey and wearing a Vigil Hat to prevent herself from being reduced to the size of a chipmunk. Well, when all her best status tricks are being nullified by some fashionable headwear, what in the world is a princess to do? How about reminding her foe that she's a summoner who knows some white magic, and not the other way around? The cavewoman's magical defenses are frankly even more laughable then Garnet's physical durability, so the mighty Ark summon should have no issues just nuking Ayla into oblivion. And if that somehow fails to work, the summoner princess still has the instantly fatal Odin, a handy Protect spell, and plentiful healing to get the job done.

"So, let me get this straight. You threw the match... to get Ayla to beat up Zidane for you." Freya said skeptically, leaning on her spear as Garnet sat down.

"Yeah. Figured I might as well." The summoner shrugged a bit at Freya's gaze. "Wasn't in the mood for the fight anyway."

"...You got AYLA..." Freya raised an eyebrow as she spoke, looking Garnet straight in the eye. "To beat up ZIDANE."

Garnet paused, before eyeing Freya right back. "You think Ayla will actually understand his bad pickup lines? Seriously? I doubt it."

"The pickup lines may not be what does it. More like that animal magnetism..." Freya murmured.

Garnet looked at Freya for a second, before standing back up and running out the door.

No traces of Ayla or Zidane were found in the arena; however, a few fragments to Full-Life from were fortunately found in a trash bin a few miles away.

Ayla: 37
Garnet til Alexandros: 28

DragonKnight Zero
A chief of her tribe.

A queen of a nation.

Surely these two leaders can work out a solution that doesn't require a violent brawl.

OK, Ayla likes a fight but Garnet thought it totally unsuitable for Alexandria's queen to be locked in mortal combat against another leader. While she wasn't able to gain approval to have Steiner stand in for her, she was able to talk the judges into an alternate idea.

"I've seen some strange matches but this is just so out there." commented Rolf as he observed the arena set up for _Double Dare: RPGDL Special Production_.
"It's less expensive than reconstructing the arena after Ark blows it up." supplied Orlandu. "Also, Garland has been itching for a chance to use Stop on people."
Yes, Garland was the host and he was eager to enforce time limits set for physical challenges and the obstacle course. Ayla and Kino represented their team while Vivi and Eiko stood in for Garnet (at their request though Garnet consented readily; anyone familiar with the show knows about the large amounts of whipped cream, chocolate, slime, and other gooey substances used). Garland explained the rules to the teams and they were off.
Ayla's temper ended up costing her the match. Losing 320 to 40, she charged out to spank Eiko. Garland put a Stop to that attempt (all status blockers were removed for the contest) and disqualified her as a result.
"Too bad" said Rune. "I would have enjoyed seeing the shorties trying to pass the Sundae Slide."
