Season 44, Week 3
Decus
(Star Ocean: The Second Story)

One might think, when looking at this match, that our reigning champion Decus has no hope to survive. He's had the misfortune to draw an enemy that utilizes water damage and resists fire as well. Hah! As one of God's Ten Wise Men, Decus has faced far greater challenges with worse odds than fighting this ridiculous-looking water tiger. While Spicule's damage is less potent against Suicune than against other opponents, Decus still has his amazingly fast physical with its ability to stun to rely on. That, combined with his high evasion and health, make it so that even the great Legendary Pokemon has no chance to survive.

Oh dear. It would seem as it the great master of fire, the Wiseman Decus, has just run out of luck. The legendary Aurora pokemon, Suicune, is exactly what the doctor ordered to put out the Wiseman's raging fire. Water typing to fully halve Decus's normally excellent fire magic, excellent special defense to bring it down even further, and powerful water attacks of his own to return fire with, the pokemon truly has everything he needs to walk away from this fight with a win. Frankly, the only way Decus is getting out of this alive is if Suicune goes in blindfolded. And while the legendary monster is generally a good sort, he's not *that* nice.

Decus was working up a serious sweat, even by the standards of someone for who merely overheated is considered nice and cool. He knew that he had managed to find a way to avoid a brutal water-powered beating at the hands, er...paws, of the legendary pokemon, but he didn't expect it to be THIS much work.

Still, there wasn't much else to do but serve up the six hundred and thirty seventh platter of barbequed pokemon food and hope that these eating machines ran out of stomache sometime soon.

That wasn't looking too likely though. Suicune decided to invite every pokemon he knew. Considering that he was a legendary who had been around the world multiple times, that was closer to, say, All Of Them then Decus would have liked.

Three Snorlax showed up. And Rayquaza was putting them to shame when it came to shoveling down the chow(hey, not much BBQ in the upper atmosphere. He was eating while the eating was good).

Still, it wasn't all for nothing. Even this amount of work was better then getting Hydro Pumped out of existence. And Groudon now considers Decus one of the most awesome guys EVER for his specialty "Overkill Spicy(No Really I Mean It)" recipe.
