Season 44, Week 1
Jessica Albert
(Dragon Quest 8)

A dark god of hatred and despair? Been there, done that. The whole possession thing didn't really work out for Jessica, so she's going to save Zemus from the same fate. And curing him won't even be as difficult as banishing Rhapthorne, thanks to the awesome overkilling power of Magic Burst and Zeromus's questionable durability. The fact that Zeromus can't access his best damage until 50% health means that Jessica can even play with her toy a bit before unleashing Magic Burst, too! Still. Jessica Albert has a keen sense of style, and she'd like to pull off something special to celebrate her return to the DL. She's got the speed to chain buff after buff, and once she hits 100 Tension with her speed Accelerated, Zeromus will be splattered all over the arena in the blink of an eye. Now that's entertainment!

The incarnation of hatred has consumed many "innocent" souls in its quest to destroy everything. What's one more little mage girl in the way of that? Today, we find out that it's not much at all, as Jessica tries and fails to hold off Zeromus. The destructive power of Big Bang takes things right to the point - Jessica is going to be hit hard and fast, and it's power she can't heal away or use a handy spell to outspeed. She has no fancy tricks or magic that will decimate Zeromus' ample HP in time to stop him, and once it's cast then the steady drain of Big Bang will prevent any defensive tactics from working long enough to secure a win. Further, should Jessica try to stall or tension up, Black Hole will render any buff she uses moot. With all that, Zeromus is going to cut through Jessica like a hot knife through butter.

Jessica knew her basic fighting style wouldn't win, so she opted for a more...subtle approach...

Unleashing the Dangerous Bustier, she knew she could simply distract Zeromus and take him down!

...unfortunately, she forgot one...minor...detail...

Zeromus, being the embodiment of hate, darkness, and other things, practically INVENTED the idea of Fanservice of this nature, and frankly, couldn't care less about humans and their appearances anyway.

The fact that said armor provides no real defensive advantages against high calibur Big Bang spells doesn't help the issue.
