Season 43, Week 4
Luis Virgil
(Xenosaga: Der Wille Zur Macht)

Luis Virgil knows how to deal with stuck-up, idealistic young women. Handling Shion Uzuki is not a task many people are capable of, but Virgil managed it, and it prepared him well for PC powerhouses Terra and Shania. His latest opponent is not a woman, for all that his features could fool you for a second, but no matter; Virgil will simply find a new set of tactics to sweep this so-called God aside. Enter Spectre Wave and Eternal Storm. Doubling his already impressive magic damage against Loki's unimpressive magic defense... after that assault, Loki may want to take his own advice, and writhe in pain. Virgil has one more Godlike woman to take out after this, and the Testament won't let some trickster bar his path!

The Dragon Orb has a particularly nasty bite, and the Blue Testament Virgil is about to feel the pain of its sting. The Trickster God, Loki, may be a surprisingly straight forward dueler, but what he lacks in his namesake tricks, he makes up in sheer damage. His blistering Indiscriminate has a massive damage edge on Virgil, who can’t even use his best and still not horribly impressive attacks right off the bat. And with his massive physical defenses to protect himself from any frontal assault, Loki is well protected from any Virgil’s various strikes. Virgil may be impressive enough to become a Testament, but even a Testament can not stand against the might of one of the 4 divine items, the dreaded Dragon Orb.

Virgil reviewed the match over and over again. He ran computer simulators, ran mathematical calculations (well, no, he didn't, he just blackmailed several of the smartest strategists in the DL involving a certain incident...you know the one...well, no, you don't, cause there are a lot of those, but you get the idea...to do it for him, but that's not the point!), even tried to roleplay the fight with action figures, in order to get a feel for the fight!

...all results ended in failure. Virgil knew he couldn't win; a madman like Loki was not his forte. So what did he do? Made a phone call of course!

The day of the match arrived. Virgil wasn't anywhere in sight. Loki was about to laugh at his easily claimed victory...until a big blue sphere of light enclosed the arena, and Loki...well, there wasn't much remaining of him. Of course, everyone KNOWS Virgil lacks a move like that, so it was obvious there was some cheating involved. Naturally, Loki got the win by default.

"So let me get this straight, Terra, you just blew up the opponent of the same guy who defeated you last round...why?" said Celes.

"Well, he did admit he couldn't win for starters, so rather than show up, have to deal with one of Loki's ridiculous prebattle rants only to lose and be in pain, it'd just be easier to go out the indignified way, by watching Loki get nuked from the side lines, and merely lose by interference."

"Uh-huh...that still doesn't explain WHY you helped Virgil though."

"Oh, that? Well, he's not such a bad guy once you get to know him! In fact, its thanks to him, the kids can sleep easier at night knowing a certain...friend of his...won't be bothering them anytime soon." Terra replied " That, and the fact that its always fun to make a fool of Loki..." she said winking.

Needless to say, while Virgil did in fact lose the fight...many would deem him the unofficial winner. But then again, that's a common occurrence here anyway, isn't it?
