Season 5, Week 1
Lloyd
(Legend of Dragoon)

Lloyd is a man with a mission. A mission to cleanse an impure dragon. A mission of hate, of power, of ambition. A mission that he must fulfill to sastify the word he gave. This mission can't be completed until Fou-Lu is put down, and as such, he must beat the Sword Magess, Anastasia Valeria. His tactics for this fight will be to win before Salvation is a factor. A blitz of magic and Dragon Buster physicals will put the hurting on Ana, and Lloyd's trademark magical attack should finish her off before her powerful skillset becomes a factor.

As the Sword Magess, Anastasia Valeria has proved herself able of wielding the legendary sword Argetlahm and of defeating Lord Blazer, experience that shall place her in good stead in this battle against the Wingly Lloyd. Indeed, with her status boosting in the form of Air Screen and Providence, all she needs to do is survive the opening rounds of the battle and momentum will carry her to her eventual victory, as if Lloyd cannot defeat her early on, then her speed and defences will only get stronger until she's no longer in any danger when she's ready to finish the battle. And, with her naturally high Magic Defence boosted by her Sword Magess armour, and backed up by good HP, she has the strength to last through the beginning of this battle.

Lloyd was brimming with self-confidence. His first RPGDL match at last, but that wasn't what got him excited. More important to him was his mission; his fated showdown with the one dragon god who exceeded the Divine Dragon. Lloyd sneered at the competion that obstructed his path to Fou-Lu: a reject from a kiddy game, a woman pretending to be a goddess, and some pacifistic girl accompanied by a Light-bait dog. None were a match for him, and he knew it.

'Impulse!'

As it turned out, that was the last thing he knew.

Ana... sweet, beautiful Ana. She can cause the same amount of damage right off the bat as Lloyd can with an Impulse, and still have enough FP to cast her healing spell as many times as she needs as his massive attacks refill her force bar. Once she looks up and see the 'Condition Green' logo flash over her head, Lloyd goes down to a quad-Impulse. Poor bastard.

You'd think this would be an easy win for Lloyd. A woman who has little to no training in how to fight and who doesn't particularily want to fight against someone whos trained to fight so as to accomplish his goals and transform the world to a new paradise and is burning with that conviction. However, Anastasia desires stopping crazed, world-wrecking zealots like Lloyd more than she desires not to fight, and training doesn't matter for much when you can use the Argetlahm. And so, once again Lloyd's dreams come to naught.
