Season 42, Week 3
False Althena
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

That - felt - GOOD! Finally smashing Seymour in for that embarrassment many seasons ago, False Althena steps confidently into the arena again this week against... a fisherman? Well, this should be entertaining. After all, Hiro was just this random geeky kid living with his grandfather in the middle of nowhere, and look what he managed with friends. Still, despite Miguel's potential, he won't get much steam against Althena's massive barrage of Ray spells and physical smashes; his HolyDragonSword is a cute move, but it's really all he has to go on, and frankly, with all Althena has going for her? That's just not going to be enough. Plus, Miguel's already a fairly old adult, which makes him the Leo of the group, and as such not anywhere near as effectual as Hiro, say. ...Mmm. Masked Miguel Mauled Massively by Masterful Magegoddess? That should make a good headline for the match's result!

A false avatar of good? Man, the stereotypes are just flying fast and free in Godlike this season. While False Althena's evil rumblings and powerful magic may scare some fighters, Miguel is as calm and unshakable as the waters around the Dead Sea. His peaceful demeanor masks a good deal of combat skills- and at nine appearances in the DL league, Miguel's the foremost veteran of Godlike combat. While Althena's blitzing style of offense may put a bit of pain on Miguel to start with, the deadly combos set up with HolyDragonSword and Weak Mind should quickly catch him up in damage. Frying someone who claims to be all that is good in the lunar universe with such a pure attack is such delicious irony... mmm, delicious. It'll be a fast fight, anyway, as Miguel's caught a fresh sea bass to fry up for dinner. As if a little girl pretending to be Althena is going to ruin his dinner!

Miguel flipped the dial on his small portable radio. He hadn't spent much time in the arena since his victory like some fighters would. He could train and train and probably wouldn't help him at all against False Althena, who's overwhelming assault made Miguel's odds of victory pretty poor. And so Leena's peaceful father did what he does best- put up his feet and cast out a line. The dead sea bass were really biting today.

"Mmm. Let's see what's the latest DL news." *Flick*

"...Kirby Invasion.. Sheena lost, assumed to be lunch... Edge Eblan vows revenge after Waddle-dee Zerg Rush.." *Flick*

Miguel felt a gentle tug at the line. Mmm, fish were really biting.. and odds are his fight with FA would be bloody and short. So peaceful at sea. No screaming fake goddesses or drama queens, just the sun and waves and the gentle touch of nature. There was always next time for a chance at glorious combat, who knows how long perfect weather like this would last?

Reeling in the bass with the barest of efforts, Miguel smiled and began cutting up the fish. Yes, he'd skip the fight. He could get in at least one good nap in the time it'd take to go there and fight.. and the weather was perfect. Miguel put the remains of his fish on ice, and cast his line out to sea. Putting his hat over his head, he closed his eyes and waited for the next nibble.

It's going to be a good day.

It never pays to utilize physical damage against a character who hails from a game where physical damage is VASTLY inferior to its magical counterpart.

Also, four words.
