Season 42, Week 3
Yuna
(Final Fantasy X)

The Lady Summoner dispatched a hopeless nutcase - now, it's time to deal with a far more reasonable individual. Unlike the deranged Malik, the good doctor Citan Uzuki is a calm, collected and resourceful individual - one that Yuna looks up to and respects. However, in the heat of an arena battle, she is the superior dueler by far. Citan's stalling game is quite respectable, but it's a paltry shadow of White Magics. With nearly infinite castings of Holy, Curaga, Protect and Auto-Life to deplete Citan's own magic pool, while having evasion to negate most of Citan's attacks and even absorbing the element of his strongest attack, Yuna doesn't even need to call Aeons to beat this fight: a simple stalling combat strategy will be more than enough to handle the good doctor this round.

No one wants Yuna to win any more, least of all Emperor Cain. That's why he's sent his top agent to the arena for just this special mission; pull off a daring victory against the lady summoner and end the reign of terror her endless victories call forth. Up to now, it's all been a lie, webs within webs, for this match; an intricate snare designed to bring her down this season. Speed is the edge needed to beat Yuna at her own, brutal game, and luckily, Solaris' favorite secret agent has that in spades and more besides. Of course, the speed would be worthless without power to back it up, but fortunately, Citan has that too inherent in his skill. Powerful techs and damaging combos are the name of the game this season, and it's high time Yuna felt the wrath of a nation scorned.

Citan, an expert of manipulation and planning, took the same meticulous care in the preparation of this match as he would in any other match. And so, when he arrived, he not only had started in motion three separate plans, but had a full dozen contingency plans for almost anything Yuna could do.

Of course, Yuna's also experienced master manipulators before. As well as ancient plots and conspiracies, and has broken them all to pieces with one simple bit of wisdom.

Get as much force as you can, and then hit it until it stops moving.

And, as smart as Citan might be, with the Aeons at her disposal, there's not much he can actually do to deal with that plan.

Yuna: 43
Citan Uzuki (Hyuga Ricdeau): 24

"I guess it's not quite unexpected, is it? That the match came down to which of them would be forced to fight as themselves instead of their 'substitutes'?"

"That's right, Jim. This match, which has been now underway thirty-seven hours without a break, still has not forced either Citan out of his gigantic robot, nor has Yuna run out of Aeons. Both combatants are masters of stalling it seems."

"Oh my! It seems that Yuna has nodded off! Her aeon is no longer moving, as it is no longer receiving any commands! For staying up later, it seems that Dr. Uzuki has this match."

"It's a good thing we could go sleep and have people take over for us, or we would also be asleep, Jim."
