Season 42, Week 2
Lulu
(Final Fantasy X)

Lulu may be seen as a bit of an underdog in the Duelling League's highest division, but she is certainly no slouch. And she'll have yet another opportunity to prove her caliber this week, as she faces a dragon boy. While Ryu's powers may certainly be quite fearsome once they get going, Lulu has just the right mix of odd defensive capabilities and offensive firepower to give Ryu issues: her great defenses and evade will make Ryu hard-pressed to connect hits against Lulu (and how does she dodge that well while wearing that belt dress, anyway?), and her own doublecast Flares should get even a brutal tank like Kaiser reeling in no time flat. If she does suffer a few wounds, casting elemental black magic on herself as a strange healing source is also a viable option. This isn't as one-sided as it sounds, and Lulu could quite well make it with just the right decisions.

Ryu the Fourth is definitely the most unassuming of the Ryus. Simple face, simple dress, simple dialogue. Underneath this calm and cool exterior lies a massive reservoir of power. Six, count 'em, six dragon forms bristling with enough scaly destruction to lay waste to several worlds. Chief among them is the dreaded Kaiser Dragon, a force feared throughout Godlike due to it's massive punch and awesome power. He's also nothing like his counterpart Fou-Lu in personality; he fights not to dominate but for the spirit of battle. With a Godlike title behind him, it's apparent that this differing mindset hasn't affected him any. Lulu packs a lot of tricks in her arsenal, but Ryu does as well. He also hits harder and faster, and has vastly more staying power than the young black mage. There will be no luck involved in this battle. Ryu will be in the finals this season faster than you can say "pabpab!"

Ryu has a Sword, wears armor, can transform into a dragon at will to blow stuff up, and is half of a god of absolutely unfair power.

Lulu has a stuffed animal, wears belts, and can make pretty explosions.

But in the end, none of this matters, as Lulu accidentally tripped on the way to the match, spraining her ankle, therefore forcing to quit the match.

Hey, everyone has a bad day, and Lulu's just happened to be the same day as her match.
