Season 42, Week 1
Algus Sadalfas
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Algus Sadalfas might not be in the running to win any Humanitarian of the Year awards, but this season he is an excellent contender for an RPGDL Light Championship! It is, after all, his noble birthright to be better than all these lowborn curs, in bearing, manners, and of course battle. What are a few worthless peasants to get in his way? Especially some slow, frail old man who claims to wield magic? How strong could a peasant's magic be anyway? Why, he's probably just some self-taught country bumpkin! Algus is deft with a sword (and an elite marksman with a crossbow to boot). He knows when and where it is time to take out the trash, and that is here and now in the DL arena!

Being a hero means that you oppose evil and all of it's tools. One of these tools is particularly sinister: Propaganda. Evil revels in denigrating it's foes, depriving them of respect and support. Algus may talk a good game. He'll go on about how his foe can't be much of anything, just a self taught mage. What he doesn't want you to know is that FuSoYa is an ancient master, having learned every spell of both White and Black magic. In reality, FuSoYa is more than capable of destoying Algus with a potent volley of Flares or Holys, let alone Toad, Piggy or Minis. Even if Algus withstands that, Meteo will turn him into nothing more than a paste on the arena floor. What can Algus do about that, shoot a crossbow at him?

Meeplelard
FuSoYa is the guardian of an ancient civilization with advanced technology, that lives in space, traveling from planet to planet, compared to a world that has just learned how to utilize propellers and gunpowder. At his disposal, he has the knowledge of just about every single mage in existence, including mastering the power of the almighty Meteor. He's also 700 years old and is related to both the world's greatest Hero AND the unstoppable Villain.

Algus...has a crossbow, a shield and a spiffy uniform.
