Season 42, Week 1
Gades
(Lufia Series)

DESTROY. That word describes a universal truth, the ruination that Gades embodies as a Sinistral. What's one more mere mortal man, unblessed by the Dual Blade and of far less talent than any Sinistral, in front of that wonderous, unstoppable power? That's the truth of this matter when Gades goes against Zelos here. You see, Zelos is a merry foe, laughing and taunting as he throws both spell and sword at his opponent. This may cower a lesser being, fearful of what may lie further behind the smile, but a superior being like Gades is hardly moved by such base trickery as that. Instead he will take the pummeling with ease and grace while he prepares, enhancing his own attack power with Undead before letting loose obliterating strikes that will utterly annihilate Zelos' frail form. With his heavy armor and excellent endurance, Gades won't have any problem lasting long enough to secure a Godlike win over Zelos' broken frame!

Sinistral? Whatever. The Chosen of Mana himself, Zelos, isn't afraid of some jumped up clanky meatheaded suit of armor! As powerful as Gades is, he's no match for a real hero. Physicals? No problem, thanks to Zelos' impressive defense. Gades' defense? Zelos can combo his way past Gades, and his speed advantage will mean nothing against a flurry of Lightning Blades. And, of course, if that overgrown lummox manages to land a hit Zelos can easily disengage and use First Aid to keep himself going. Running circles around Gades will be second nature, no doubt. It'll take awhile to beat down Gades' impressive HP score, true, but that's no problem, since Zelos has all the healing he'll ever need and plenty of TP left over to use all his physical techs. And that spells doom for the Sinistral of Destruction, who will find out just how powerless he really is when he comes face to face with one of the greatest swordsmen in all the land!

superaielman
Transgendered DL Tales swordsman with a sordid history of tolerating Zidane.. versus a giant walking suit of evil armor who has a large army of fans who insist he belongs in Godlike and a just as large group of detractors who insist he belongs in Light. There can only be one winner here.

"I... what... WHO GAVE JUSTIN DUAL BLADE?!?!?"

The heroic Zelos took one look at the hero of New Parm with a weapon strong enough to level the arena and ran screaming towards the exit, and to hell with the match result. Gades.. well, Gades did what Gades does best. He challenged the red haired hero with the Dual Blade to a battle to the death.

And much like the last three times he picked that fight, Gades got his ass whipped in front of pretty much the entire universe. At least it wasn't Wain beating on him again.
