Season 41, Week 2
Surt
(Valkyrie Profile)

The fire giant from the land of ice makes his long-awaited RPGDL return, and what a match to greet his reappearance! At first glance, Edgar might seem like a problematic foe for the Lord of Jotunheim, but while Surt is admittedly out of his element, so to speak, against fire immunity, King Figaro is even worse off against Surt's status immunity. So it'll be a good old-fashioned brawl, just the way Surt likes it, mano a mano. Well, a brawl which Surt will tilt in his favour with a quick Might Reinforce. With that power upgrade and durability befitting a giant, Surt's massive greatsword will inevitably prevail over Edgar's puny drill. If all else fails, Surt can even call upon his Sacred Javelin, to punish the lecherous king, but his unparalled physical strength shall prevail.

Professional ladies' man, machinist extraordinaire, beloved king of a nation, Edgar's got it all. Heck, if he wanted to, he could very well be a god... which just so happens to be what he's facing off against. Well, kinda. Although Surt might have a nice title to his name, it's certainly not going to be of any help here. This match is actually extremely advantageous for our stout king. With Surt relying very heavily on fire-elemental attacks and Edgar being completely immune to fire-based offense, the King of Figaro will easily be able to Drill his way to victory without taking much more than a bruise. After brutally beating Surt to the ground, Edgar can go off to do what he does best; flirt with anything that both exists and is female, with hopefully just as good a result as this fight.

Let's face it. An automatic cross bow, a battle chainsaw and a tunneling castle make great steampunk. If Edgar was facing a giant robot or a steam driven dragon, he'd be set up to win. However, he's facing a primal being, the opposite of the God Odin. Surt's not going to be impressed by a few machines. No, he's going to take a hit and then splatter Edgar all over Figaro Desert.
