Season 40, Week 5
Rutee Katrea
(Tales of Destiny)

Rutee may not be as analytical as her rational opponent, but the heat of battle, just like the noble fields of conning and thieving, is no place for second-guessing or overthinking. With the skill borne from one hundred battles and a (rather presumptuous) magic sword that lived through an ancient war, Rutee has proved that she’s a force to be reckoned with during this season. While all the tricks the thief has used to get this far won’t help her against Gale’s instant death, one quick casting of her accurate Silence spell will stop her magically reliant opponent in his tracks faster than you can shout "THIEF"! With his obnoxious voice silenced, Gale won’t even be able to cry out as he eats Bloody Rose after Bloody Rose, giving Rutee both an easy and a blessedly noiseless victory for a change.

Through careful, logical planning, Gale has managed to make it all the way to the Middle Finals. That same logic also proves that a Middle belt is his probable - no, certain. Nay, inevitable reward! Rutee is a skilled fighter and healer, of course, but she lacks one rather important thing: ID resistance. Mamudoon will almost certaintly end the match in the first round in this case. If not, there's not much Rutee can do to kill Gale before his next turn, and Mamudoon will definitely take out Rutee then, ipso facto. This match is, bluntly put, simplicity in and out of itself. All the other skills, abilities, techniques, etc. that each dueller sports? They will not matter. With this vital - if uninteresting - piece of evidence at hand, there's no denying that Gale will achieve victory, and a shiny championship along with it.

At last, Rutee finally earned what she had been training so hard for, and against all sorts of odds. No more princesses and moon people to get in her way, she decisively claims her final prize...

...wait, a trophy? You underestimate Rutee, clearly. On the awards ceremony, she stole every dime off the DL's biggest officials and made a grand escape, taking the trophy with her as a mere bonus. Needless to say, very few people were happy, but Rutee didn't care. Now, about that vacation...
