Season 39, Week 2
Zeikfried
(Wild Arms)

The leader of the Quarter Knights didn't become Leader for no reason. Obviously, he got that far with great intelligence, amazing leadership skills, and holding a really awesome looking spear! And I mean really awesome! And its time to show all of that off, as his opponent this week isn't exactly an easy one by any means. With his powerful Ziek Impulse and Negative Rainbows, the elven warrior won't know what hit him before he's downed, and with his Boss HP and trademark Metal Demon defensive stats, he won't be falling anytime soon either in this slugging match! He's going to put up a big fight this season, and he plans on coming out on top too!

Artea's wily elven ways come to bear this week as he takes on the tyrannical Ziekfried. The master of the Quarter Knights relies on his Dark Spear Glumzamber to wreck havoc, something Artea will have to handle. However, he possesses excellent means of doing so with Champion to heal his wounds. With that, it comes down to the sacred spell Zap and Champion versus Ziekfried's endurance. Does Artea have enough MP to outlast the Metal Demon? Most likely, as not even metal can withstand constant assaults of heavy damage like this. With no options, Ziekfried will be fried as he vainly wounds Artea over and over, an endless loop canceled out.

Rather then a normal turn based battle, the judges decided to have Artea and Zeikfreid battle it out in a flat out brawl. A Smash Brothers Brawl, that is. But as Artea and Zeik were new at this whole 'fighting without turns' deal, they were each allowed to grab one partner from the ranks of the DL to help them out.

Zeik, naturally, went straight to the top and picked Mewtwo for his partner. After all, the psychic kitty was a godlike of great power AND had experience with this whole Smash thing. He was the obvious perfect partner. Mewtwo, when asked for his help, oddly doubled over, silently laughing as if he found something highly amusing, but agreed to 'help' Zeik out as best he could. Zeik found this behavior a bit odd, but simply chalked it up to the eccentricities of being a feline, and made his own preparations.

Artea, on the other hand, decided to actually do some research into this whole Smash Bros thing and tapped his fellow Heavy and heroic type character, Mario, as his partner. Mario agreed on the spot, and did his best to teach Artea how to hold his own in a Smash fight.

Come fight time, the two fighter and their partners found themselves unceremoniously dumped into Pokemon Stadium, causing Zeik to laugh and cheer about having the home field advantage, while Mewtwo snickered silently. The match was to be a 5 Stock battle, with no items.

And after that surprisingly short battle, Mario and Artea were the ones left standing, having only lost 2 lives each. This result surprised nobody. Well, nobody except Zeik.

He was rather furious, turning on his partner and screaming, "You're a GODLIKE!!! One of the most powerful creatures ever created!!! HOW COULD YOU LOSE SO QUICKLY!?"

In response, Mewtwo just couldn't hold it any longer and used his psychic power to implant his own Smash Bros. record right into Zeik's mind. The resulting look of sudden understanding and horror of just what he had brought upon himself that dawned on Zeikfreid's face was all Mewtwo really wanted. That one look made the whole process of getting his own butt kicked by a plumber and an elf totally worth it.

He might be an unstoppable(usually...) psychic mutant, but Mewtwo was still a cat, and thus a very contrary critter.
