The God-Emperor of the Fou Empire, after a several season wait following his double championship in Season 28 and 29, is back to defend his title and position as one of the best in the Duelling League. His first opponent is Odin's loyal henchwoman and goddess Hrist Valkyrie, which is really a pretty sad challenge for the exalted dragon god. His legacy in the DL is unparalleled, and not due to immense mockery like what Hrist has endured. While Hrist has regained her dignity as a dueler with her recent run in Heavy, she can't match Fou-Lu in raw power. Her luck has run out now that she's ran into him, and after a Soul Rend from the Astral Dragon, Hrist won't live to see another day in the Arena this season. |

There was a time when the mere thought of Hrist Valkyrie versus Fou-Lu would have sent the RPG Duelling League into peals of laughter. But those days are long past, and the eldest Valkyrie sister has earned her place in the halls of Godlike. This isn't to say her fellow deity Fou-Lu will be an easy mark. Quite the opposite, in fact, but that will only make her coming victory all the sweeter. Can you picture it? The woman once scorned as second only to Jogurt in ineptness, standing victorious over the highest-ranked competitor in the league? Hrist is but a few well-placed strokes from the Sacred Treasure Gungnir (a weapon she wields far better than a certain merely Heavy-ranked janitor) from living that dream. |
