Season 36, Week 3
Claude Kenni
(Star Ocean: The Second Story)

Already, the Hero of Light has dispatched the Sinistral Amon; the next villain to fall to this holy warrior will be that puffed-up magician, Lezard Valeth. Lezard has gained new powers, but they still amount to nothing against Claude C. Kenni. Instant death? No hero would be complete without immunity to that trick, and Claude's comes in the form of a simple Silver Ring. Powerful, arcane magic? Too bad Lezard's best is either Holy or Dark, two elements nulled by Claude's Eternal Sphere. Highly questionable plot barriers? Claude even has an answer to that, as his anti-proton weapons shredded the similar barriers employed by God's Ten Wise Men. With Energy Sword to keep him healed against Lezard's pathetic offence, and Mirror Slice to cut the villain into ribbons in record time, Claude's about to show why spell-slinging baddies have such a poor track record against the swordsman of Earth, and maintain a perfect score as he advances toward a heavy title!

Hahaha! What fools these mortals must be to challenge the mighty Lezard Valeth again! What a fool Claude Kenni is to try and defeat the Infinite Being, one who can control all forms of magic. What a fool he is to try and supplant a god who, even as a mere human, could hold back the Goddess of Death herself! Claude may have a few little tricks with the blade here and there, but there's absolutely no way he can survive the onslaught of Lezard's magical powers. Oh, he nullifies Holy and Darkness? Well, that's absolutely fine! Lezard's assault is not limited to two measly elements - he will simply attack him with a variety of different powers! No matter what defenses Claude may have, Lezard will destroy them all with the greatest magic in all the worlds! Even the barrier-destroying powers Claude supposedly bears will be of no use...You can't break something if you die before you get the chance to touch it! Hahahaha! Wither and die, Claude! Die like the foolish mortal you are!

Lezard's cold gaze bared down on Ensign Kenni. The gaze was utterly insane and promised death beyond dying. The very energy of the arena crackled and bent, as Lezard's very presence made the universe itself bend to his will. His powers were as close to infinite as making it not matter. Claude looked incredibly outmatched by this destroyer of worlds.

"Ahahhahaha. What can stop me? I control space and time itself, you pathetic wretch. What can one little boy with a sword do to stop the almighty Lezard Valeth?"

"Nothing. I do have a friend of a friend.. well, he specializes in breaking barriers of the overwhelming variety. All I'm supposed to do is hold up this staff like so..."

"..Wh..what? HOW CAN THIS BE? MY BARRIER IS GONE!"

"And I that did the trick. Now, Mr Valeth, there's one burning question that everyone is asking- how many strikes from Mirror Slice does it take to turn a nerdcromancer into dog food? Let's find out!"

---

Sadly for Lezard, the answer turned out to be 'not many'.

Claude Kenni: 48
Lezard Valeth: 34
