Season 4, Week 3
Sephiroth
(Final Fantasy VII)

Ah, Sephiroth. Are you sick of him yet? He gets to fight yet another PC this week, and although Ryu is mightier than most PCs, it's still not saving him from death courtesy of Sephiroth's trademark PC OHKO spell, Shadow Flare. Sephiroth only needs to worry about this match if Ryu somehow makes it to dragon form... but even then, with his devastating Super Nova to deplete dragon HP, his immunity to melee, his defensive Wall spell, and high speed, he's well set to win a battle of attrition, too

Ryu 3 has a tough draw this week, in Sephiroth. He faces a boss that can fly out of range of the worst of his physical attacks, and who can tank out with Mbarrier. Of course... Sephiroth has to use Shadow Flare, which will be his only means of offense against Ryu. Ryu's plan will be to force Sephiroth to fly to lower elevations near the end of the fight, to try and finish him off. Of course, that's when Ryu will use his devastating Bonebreak attack...

Let's review here - Sephiroth's first appearance, he gets beaten by a team of fighters, the oldest of which isn't even 30. Next, he goes solo against a grade-school age fighter... and loses. Obviously, this means that Sephy's weakness is youth.

Ryu, hoping to capitalize on that, decides to fight in his child form. The child form that gets knocked out by a crane. The child form that also gets knocked out by an NPC who seems to spend all his time chopping wood. The child form that gets smacked around left, right, and center by Balio and Sunder again and again... Noticing a pattern here?

Maybe Ryu should have thought his plan out a bit more.

Sephiroth: 15
Ryu: 6

Ryu is a PC, Sephiroth wins, yawn. We've seen this before. Good thing his opponent next week is NOT going to be a PC, FINALLY.
