Season 35, Week 3
Beowulf Kadmus
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

After evading death by the proverbial (and infamous) axe to the face, the former temple knight Beowulf moves on to... actually less threatening foes. Strange. But nevertheless. Sure, Kresnik Ahtreide might have won his first match, but the guy's hardly the most valiant fighter in his cast (far the contrary, would a meaner tongue lash). So, all the more fitting for Beowulf to employ his trademark Chicken spell. Sure, Kresnik might have decent resistance to the knight status attacks, but the gunner's offense doesn't scare anyone with Beo's HP and Drain spell. Beowulf has plenty of time to pick away at his opponent and figure out the best way to humiliate him in defeat.

Beowulf... Kresnik has heard the name. Possessing the armor of a warrior and a wide array of deadly statuses, the Temple Knight is a truly powerful foe... with one glaring weakness. Against strong magical defense, his mighty arsenal is as accurate as a blind, drunken archer trying to hit an apple at a hundred paces in the middle of a hurricane. Not only does the Pale Rider have such a defense, with Adrenaline Rush, he could raise it (along with his speed) to far more ludicrous levels. Healing Factor also makes a slugfest a hopeless affair for Beowulf, and his shields are useless against the power of Lock-On. The gene driver's conviction had already dropped one knight last round. And this man from Ivalice won't be any different.

Namagomi
It was a classic battle of magic versus technology; the magic-wielding Temple Knight versus the ARM-using Pale Rider. Adrenaline rushed, shots were deflected off of shields, and almost every form of spell from the swordsman and attack pattern from the Howling Spike was seen; Apoptoses, Breaks, Pile-Bunkers, Shocks, even a Locked-ON Gatling Raid...yet it seemed bleak for the Brionac commander, before he tried one last-ditch move...

...he punched Beowulf.

The knight instinctively reacted by raising his shield to block the assault--only to find himself rocketing back, ultimately smashing back-first into the Arena wall before passing out, pieces of his completely shattered shield and broken armor scattered everywhere with the impact...

In the audience, an unidentifiable Third-Class Pilot ran from his seat to the nearest exit, screaming in absolute terror.

Beowulf Kadmus: 34
Kresnik Ahtreide: 38
