Season 35, Week 2
Zeromus
(Final Fantasy IV)

A great evil rises once more, its only desire to crush the very life from the world and shroud everything in darkness. Such darkness as has not been seen since... last week, really. Okay, so maybe great evils are a dime a dozen around here, but Zeromus has just the plan to stand out and finally get some of the attention that he so richly deserves. It all starts with crushing the foolish sports star turned guardian Wakka! Sure, killing Wakka isn’t exactly hard, but you’ve got to start somewhere, right? With immunity to the blitzer’s famed status attacks, Zeromus has managed to shut his victim’s greatest tricks from the get go. To make things even better, for every spell Wakka casts, he eats a Flare counter, which really defeats the point of draining magic. With nothing but his physical available to him, Wakka won’t live long enough to see an Overdrive.

Hey mon! It's time, once again, for Wakka to let Tidus handle things back with the Aurochs for a while so the blitzballer steps back into the ring. The funky haired Blitzer has a lot to prove too, as many say that he doesn't belong in Godlike, and will cheer for Zeromus to send him to the downgrade pool. But Wakka isn't about to let that happen. While his sickening status game won't help against the status-immune Zeromus, he still has a whole bag of tricks. Drain’s excellent healing can keep him afloat even against Zeromus’s barrage of spells, and while it doesn’t do much damage, it doesn’t need to. Drain isn't his offense, after all. It’s just a stalling game, keeping him alive until he reaches his Overdrive, and Attack Reels should put quite a dent in even someone like Zeromus, ya? The league’s biggest sports star is back in action, and he’s going for the gold!

Attack Reels: Three Blitzball Matches.

Status Reels: Ten Blitzball Matches.

Auroch Reels: Three more Blitzball Matches.

Jupiter Sigil: Ten. More. Blitzball. Matches.

Screaming "No, really, ya, ya, ya! I love Blitzball, it's the greatest thing ever! Look at all the stuff I got from it!" at the top of your lungs, and having a dumb villian buy it and start playing Blitzball shortly after, only to get his ass kicked seventy-two consecutive games in a row, by horrible AI Blitzball players: Priceless.

There's some things money can't buy.

Like winning a match, in Wakka's case.

But for everything else, there's being smarter than a rock.

Zeromus: 79
Wakka: 13

Zeromus was a very tough villian back in his day, but with the coming of greater villians and challenges seems to fall short by Final Fantasy X standards, Wakka can survive big bang, but Zeromus can't survive having World Champion thrown at him a few times. However having lost to Rubicant who is alot weaker then Zeromus, Zeromus may be the favorite here when looking at past results.
