Season 34, Week 5
Beatrix
(Final Fantasy IX)

Here we are at the Heavy Finals again - a place Beatrix is all too familiar with. She’s been here twice before, once taking the title but failing to upgrade, and once falling to the powerful magic of Cecilia. But now that Cecilia, along with the only other two who have ever beaten Beatrix, is now in Godlike, who is left in Heavy to stop the Alexandrian General from conquering the division once more? Nobody, that’s who. Certainly not an upstart Middle who’s only made it this far thanks to a handful of lucky draws. Beatrix won’t even need her healing magic to handle this dishonorable king. She’s faster, more resilient, and possesses a FAR superior offense that will leave royal guts splattered all over the arena in record time. If he’s betting on the low-odds status attached to his Holy Swordskills to win this match, then he had better remember to bring every lucky charm he’s ever owned, because he’s only getting one shot at it.

Delita Hyral has had one hell of a ride. His last time in the arena he barely even had a taste of combat before he became the first victim of Tiamat’s rampage through Middle back in Season 20. But now he's taken a title at last, and far more - he's one victory away from a second straight championship, in a second division. He got there by splattering the overly optimistic adventurer Justin with the instant death of Crush Punch, but he now faces the hardest opponent he has faced in all of his two-season run - Beatrix. Since both are knights of their respective countries, you might consider this to be a fight for honor and justice. But with a trickster like Delita in the mix, no option can be counted out. Not that he really needs anything but his sword skills. The status effects attached to the Holy Sword abilities will see him through, and the King of Ivalice will enjoy his second championship....and dare he dream, a second upgrade?

Battle of the Holy Knights.

One is your traditional backstabber who makes his way up by manipulation and murder.

The other is honest, unfailingly loyal to her country, and just the epitome of what a holy knight should be in general.

Strangely enough, the evil one is on your side and the good one isn't (for most of the game, anyways). That being said, Beatrix can use White Magic AND far more powerful sword techniques than Delita could ever pull off. That, and she utterly dominates your party THREE times in a row. There's no way Delita could even come close to doing that once. Beatrix has this one.
