Season 34, Week 1
Beatrix
(Final Fantasy IX)

Hail and tremble, Heavy warriors. Beatrix, former Heavy champion and two-time finalist, currently highest-ranked fighter in the divison's ranks, has come once again to reassert her dominance and show this puny division how a real fighter does things. After a second upgrade pool where she failed to ascend to Godlike, her fury has risen to astronomical levels, and she is ready to take it out on her first opponent. You have to feel bad for Janus, as he will undoubtedly feel Shock after Shock crush him like a bug, as well as see any damage inflicted unto her washed away with Cure. Beatrix is back with a vengeance this season, and this time championship be damned, she's not settling for anything less than the title of Godlike.

Janus Cascade may have stumbled in his debut match so many seasons back, but the Drifter who wouldn't quit isn't about to let one little loss derail his dueling career. It took Virginia and friends how many attempts to stop him? Seven? Eight? Surely more than that addle-brained twit from Boot Hill could count. In any event, it's far too early for Wild Arms 3's resident Silver-Haired Baddie to throw in the towel. You wouldn't expect the road to world domination to be an easy one, would you? So Janus won't be deterred by facing a former Heavy champ in his overdue return to the arena. Beatrix may have a daunting record, but that makes it all the more satisfying to send her packing with a barrage of Proton Beams.

"Why is Beatrix caning him?"

The question had been asked many times, with no answer.

Everyone had expected Beatrix to win. Why would she stoop to humilating Janus-not to mention forcing him to drop his pants in public, which had to harm her?

What kind of honorable knight would do this?

*Three days ago.*

"Hey, you know that chick that's always hanging around Zidane, right? Man, she's hot." Janus said drunkenly. "I'm going to kick her ass, then she's mine!"

Amarant frowned. "You mean...hanging around Steiner?"

"Naaaah, she's always around Zidane, he always gets all the chicks." Janus shrugged, adding a hiccup to punctuate his sentence.

Amarant, disgustedly, walked off. "I can't wait until Beatrix hears that her opponent has a thing for dominating Eiko."

"Eiko? Huh?" Janus frowned at Amarant's back confusedly. "Wonder what he was mumbling about. Eiko? Who's Eiko? Oh well, not important." He shrugged, and went back to his drink.

Beatrix: 73
Janus Cascade: 13

Little did anyone suspect, but in fact, Beatrix's tastes in men run towards the bad boys. Janus' cavalier attitude and *smooth* trash-talking were all it took to send Beatrix into a swoon, throwing the match to the surprised Drifter.
