Season 33, Week 5
Ghaleon
(Lunar Series)

Regardless of the method, Ghaleon is once again in the finals, his hated nemesis TimeLord left behind. Now, he faces a much less enraging challenge - if it can even be called a challenge at all. The Numan Rika may have done well in reaching the finals (even if by near-pure luck of the draw), but her lucky streak ends here. Fate Storm will quickly end her run at a Godlike belt - and, if the Magical Emperor wants to play around instead, he certainly has the tools. In spite of her blazing speed, Rika barely has the resources to break past Chaos Shield...or Ghaleon's astounding physical durability. Either way, the fearsome Magical Emperor will have yet another championship under his belt, another jewel to add to his vast collection of DL glories.

It's been a long climb, but Rika, the little Numan who could, now finds herself on the brink of a second championship, and "Godlike title" has a far more glamourous ring to it than "Heavy" ever did. Of course, such honours do not come easily, even for one as skilled as her. The Magic Emperor Ghaleon is a more frightful test than her previous three foes put together, but still Rika must persevere! She still has a speed advantage that can only be called "obscene" or "astronomical," which will give her ample time to layer her stat boosters and get her classic defensive game going. With her unmatched youthful spirit, Rika will be able to withstand whatever Ghaleon can throw at her, and claim the mantle of champion as her own once again.

"What do you mean, she's throwing the match?" Royce asked, puzzled, as she watched Rika fiddle with various odd objects in the arena.

"She's throwing the match." Xenobia said, with a shrug. "We haven't seen any sign of Ghaleon in the past week, since...you know." "Yes." "At any rate, Rika said something about not wanting to have the match put off for a few months."

"...Since when do matches get put off for months because one person won't show up?" Royce asked, puzzled.

Xenobia shrugged. "Since the judges said so. One of them is Rashidi." "Oooooh." "So, she said she wanted to come in and do...some exhibition demonstration or something." "Oh. Why?" "It's Rika. She does things on impulse."

Rika, her setup complete, smiled broadly.

Then she put both of her hands around the microphone and, in her soprano voice, began, along with several dozen other women, to sing...

(oo) What I want
(oo) Baby, you got
(oo) What I need
(oo) Do you know you got it?
(oo) All I'm askin'
(oo) Is for a little Speck for this fight (just a little one)
Hey baby (just a little one) just for this fight now
(just a little one) mister judge (just a little one)

"...what...the hell is this." Rashidi said from the judges box. "I have to sit through her singing about wanting magic immunity? In soprano? To the tune of "Respect"!?"

"Well, you did just approve it without asking what she wanted." Orlandu said, with a shrug.

"I didn't think it would be incredibly retarded. In retrospect, I have no idea why." Rashidi shook his head.

I ain't gonna do that magic parasol wrong while you're gone
Ain't gonna do it wrong (oo) 'cause I don't wanna (oo)
All I'm askin' (oo)
Is for a little Speck for this fight (just a little one)
Baby (just a little one) just for this fight now (just a little one)
Yeah (just a little one)

"Is...is it legal for the judge to kill the participant in a exhibition match?" Rashidi asked, curiously. "No." Rolf said, with a shrug.

I'm about to give you all of my Meseta
And all I'm askin' in return, judgey
Is to give me a Silent Lake
Just for this fight (just for, just for, just for, just for)
Yeah baby (just for, just for, just for, just for)
Just for this fight (just a three-turn one)
Yeah (just a three-turn one)

"...for the love of all that exists, does it actually matter that it's illegal?" Rashidi said, incredibly angered.

"Yes. In the finals, you have to not have half of Godlike agreeing with the basic sentiments of the person you're breaking rules against, to not start a riot when you break the rules. Even if that song...was...not meant to be sung like that." TimeLord shuddered violently.

Ooo, your Fate Storms (oo)
Sweeter than honey (oo)
And guess what? (oo)
So is my Runicey (oo)
All I want you to do (oo) for me
Is let me borrow it for this match (spe, spe, spe ,spe)
Yeah judgey (spe, spe, spe, spe)
Whip it to Ghaleon (Speck, just a little one)
For this match, now (just a little one)

"...I can kill her right after she's done, though, right?" "Right." "Okay. Excuse me." Rashidi suddenly whirled and marched out of the arena.

"Where's he going?" Rolf asked, puzzled. "Probably calling in a few favors or dealing out some threats." Orlandu shrugged.

S-P-E-C-K-I-E
Find out what it'd mean to me
S-P-E-C-K-I-E
Take care, TCB

The singers momentarily derailed, as Rika argued with with several other people over TCB being included in the song. And also what it meant.

Evidently, Rika just liked it there.

Oh (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)
A little Speck (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)
Whoa, babe (just a little one)
A little Speck (just a little one)
I get IDed (just a little one)
Just keep on tryin' (just a little one)
You're runnin' out of MP (just a little one)
And I ain't lyin' (just a little one)
(spe, spe, spe, spe) 'ck
For this match (spe, spe, spe ,spe)
Or you might walk in (speck, just a little one)
And find out I'm winning (just a little one)
Only if I have (just a little one)
A little Speck (just a little one)

"Is she done?" Rashidi, a glint in his eyes and short of breath, walked up to the judges boxes.

"Yes." TimeLord sighed, and nodded.

Rashidi, grinning, gestured towards Rika, as she accepted her scattered, yet heartfelt, applause.

And a impromptu, hastily assembled and positioned Sister Ray, positioned on the outer rim of the arena, fired into the center of it.

"...Feel better now?" TimeLord said, grinning, as Rolf and Orlandu looked on at the horrific aftermath.

"Yes." Rashidi smiled.

"Good. Now, for me."

Smiling, TimeLord cast TimeTwister on the Sister Ray, and laughed as it fired once more.

With apologies of the most deep sort to Aretha Franklin.

Oh, and to those who can't remember what a Speck is. Or have somehow not played FF6.

Ghaleon: 58
Rika: 12

Rika in the finals, a very unusual yet unlikely happening, if Lucca Blight can do it, then Rika certainly shouldnt have trouble winning the Godlike championship. Insane use of deban and Saner should be enough to give her the advantage she needs, Deban, Shift, and Sanar should be all she needs to win, causing max damage every time after enough castings and with double slash. As powerful as Ghaleon is good allway's prevails...
