Season 33, Week 3
Wren
(Phantasy Star 4)

After dispatching the master of evolution with surprising ease, the dutiful android Wren meets with someone who he already knows very well. His former student, the Numan Rika, has made him proud by vanquishing a powerful servant of darkness in her last match. But she will receive a rather interesting lesson now. His reinforced body can easily weather her blows, and his defensive abilities and healing match Rika's own in quantity and quality - Wren will show her how durable the watchers of Algol truly are. Her stalling game may be good, but the android's tankishness is nearly unparalleled. And, if things get desperate, a Positron Bolt may well turn the tide of the match. The student is unlikely to surpass the master today.

After her victory over a former Godlike finalist silenced any doubters of her power, Rika now takes aim at one of her own comrades. Fighting one of her former teachers will be a grueling affair, but the resourceful Numan's unmatched versatility leaves her with a decided edge. Armed with a shield and plentiful healing, Rika can easily outlast any and all sub-weapons Wren can throw at her. But her trump card in this match is her Saner spell - with it, she will run circles around the sluggish 'bot, and also evade any attempt he makes to hit her with his ordinary cannons. It will be a long battle of attrition, but with her multitude of buffing spells, it will be one that the bio-engineered (and awfully cute) warrior girl is sure to win.

DjinnandTonic
Oh cruel fate that pits master against student in an unlikely (or considering your viewpoint, more likely than most of the RPGDL duels) battle that could happen in-continuity!

Two basically equal fighters in skills and strength, but who would win this close fight?

Rika worried over the ramifications of fighting with one who had raised her.

But Wren, without the moral dilemmas of emotions, followed his battle programming strictly once the objective was set. "It's no use, Rika, I have the high ground!"

But as we all know, in video games, it's the power of emotions that makes characters that much stronger - and despite her misgivings, Rika, the product of 1000 years of bio-engineering, sees her teacher's defeat.

Wren: 25
Rika: 46

Wren and Rika faking eachother, is the closest match there is provided both are at there best, Rika will get in the first hit, however the droid can withstand alot + has healing with repair kits, I think it can go either way, but in the best 7 out of 10 I think Wren would win.
