Season 31, Week 1
Mewtwo
(Pokémon Series)

The psychic terror and well established godlike Mewtwo returns to the arena, ready to dispose of a washed up former champion in what will be a pathetically simplistic match for him. His Barrier ability is his trump card in this fight, reducing Melfice's sword strokes to mere tickles and leaving them dreadfully easy to Recover from. Between those skills being out of the picture and the low accuracy of Melfice's status moves, nothing will stop Mewtwo from crushing Melfice with his immensely powerful psychic assault. The Horns of Valmar's days of glory have long since passed, and soon, he will get to tell everyone about how he lost to a cat. Not that it's any surprise, really... with such power on Mewtwo's side, how could he not win such an easy match?

Carnage. Utter despair. The wailing of the damned. Just another day at the office for the Horn of Valmar. His complete and total domination of Godlike on all levels is as legendary as his fighting prowess. With a Godlike title to his name, his very name brings nothing but bleakness and terror into the hearts and minds of Godlike. Smashing a psychic cat's not any more challenging than any of Melfice's other victories. It's rare that Mewtwo's outsped in a Godlike duel, but it's the case against Melfice. Going first and putting pressure on with either Moveblock or Wailing Soul Slash force Mewtwo to heal and play defensively. Once Move Block's shut down Mewtwo's offense, it's just a matter of picking him apart with any of his countless attacks.

Mewtwo floated into the arena. His opponent was well known for a brutal blitzing style and being weak to mental attacks, both of which were things Mewtwo could handle easily enough. To the crowd's surprise, Melfice merely sat in the middle of the ring, reading a book while paying no attention to his foe. Mewtwo's shrug showed that he payed no attention to Melfice, either. What mere book could stop him? Winding up, he charged a mind probing attack at Melfice, with enough force to shatter his possessed mind for good.

To the shock of the crowd, Melfice didn't even so much as look up when the wave of Psychic energy hit him. Mewtwo, however, promptly fell over, a twitching mess. Dropping the book, Melfice walked over to Mewtwo and punted the kitty all the way out of the arena in one kick. Without another word, the Horn of Valmar left the arena the victor.

As soon as Melfice left, the crowd closed in on the book, curious to see what could fell Mewtwo in such a horrific way. What could shatter the mind of the smartest creature in the Duelling League? The book was dropped down on it's side, so the cover came down over it. It was quite easy to read what the title of the novel was.
