Season 3, Week 5
Tengaar
(Suikoden Series)

Now just one match from a Light championship, Tengaar and her Earth Rune face fearless treasure hunter Locke. Tengaar's Earthquake will do horrible things to Locke and his shoddy magic defence, though the crafty thief will likely come prepared with Gaia Gear. Still, Tengaar won't sweat it... her Revenge Earth gives her perfect evasion, and Locke has nothing but physicals. Unless she's unlucky enough to get taken out by a Wind Edge death attack before she gets Revenge Earth up, she should cruise to a win.

You might think that the famed Treasure Hunter would be in a tight spot here, since Revenger Earth utterly shuts down his offences, and he has nothing but offence. However, he's still got options. His most conventional one would be to opt for the Wing Edge and hope for the ID to kick in with his first shot. Especially since the Valient Knife just won't do enough, and his famed ability to steal clothes right off a person's back is more likely to net him the win through an enraged Hix storming the ring than by hoping that Tengaar really is a shy maiden. However, this spunky, charismatic treasure hunter has faced worse situations, and may yet steal the win.

Locke has to hope to wait out Revenger Earth, or that ID will kick in with the Wing Edge on the first shot. However, barring a lucky strike, then Locke's gonna tank it out, and have you ever heard of a tankish thief?

Tengaar: 8
Locke Cole: 4

Tengaar opened with her usual Earthquake...only to Learn Locke had done his homework, and was wearing a nice suit of Gaia Gear being healed from the attack. Imagine Hix's face when he Locke's Valiant Knife in Tengaar's Back a few minutes later...
