Season 29, Week 1
Fou-Lu
(Breath of Fire IV)

Victory after victory has piled up in the God-Emperor’s history, including wins against the league's strongest warriors: Sephiroth, Indalecio, and even a flashy and vengeful victory against the mad clown Kefka - one of the few who were ever able to best him. Now that he finally has his second championship, Fou-Lu is planning on putting up another winning season. The first opponent in his warpath is… Diekbeck, the immensely versatile robot famed for his appearances in the Arc the Lad series. A hardly worthy adversary for someone of Fou-Lu’s caliber, wouldn’t you say? Well, regardless, the Fou Empire’s true master will Soul Rend and Dark Wave the little robot into submission, and he’ll move on to the next round without a scratch.

It's been a long time since Diekbeck's upgrade to Godlike, and since then, he's had no chance to prove his worth. But here he has the chance of a lifetime: to defeat the defending champ! While Diek might be the underdog in this fight, there's no finer warrior in Godlike to take down the mighty Dragon God. With his (literal) iron will, the mighty robot has every trick he needs to destroy even Godlike's finest. The fast robot can easily start off with his trademark Invincible spell, neutralizing the Fou-Lu's deadly Dark Wave. From there, the battle's all downhill for the Dragon God, as Diekbeck uses Mind Absorber to keep the Invincible shield up, retaliating with Divide to wear down the beast. A great victory awaits - an omen of many more to come.

A dragon.

A robot.

A clash of two cultures, nay, two worlds that never before have come together except in several dozen RPGs and a large amount of books and fanfiction. But those don't matter!

Yea, this is a battle of civilization vs nature! A raw conflict between the primal forces of chaos, and the human, orderly world of law! A world of disordered, yet beautiful, fantasy, pitted against orderly, structured foresight into the future, a view of hope for a world to come!

And so, the robot malfunctions, picks the form he has no chance with, assaults the dragon by exploding repeatedly, and he quickly gets crushed like a giant tin can after doing so.

...This had really had better not be some form of commentary.

Fou-Lu: 56
Diekbeck: 28
