Season 28, Week 5
Purim
(Secret of Mana)

After narrowly surviving an encounter with a superhero, Purim now finds herself in a position to win it all. A championship belt, an upgrade to a division worthy of her skills... and all she has to do is put a simple boy from Karaya in his place. Flame Champion Hugo may be, but his mastery of fire is a pale shadow beside that of Secret of Mana's premier magess. Purim's Blaze Wall will paralyse the boy in a sea of fire, just as Flame Bouquet will cut his physical strength. And if he tries to use his True Fire Rune, a Wall spell will hurl the scorching onslaught back in his face! With the added insurance of an Ivy Amulet to ward off Wind of Sleep, Purim will blaze to victory this week, not to mention give spectators pause to question who truly is the master of fire in Heavy.

After many seasons that ended in tears and long stays in a hospital, Hugo is finally at the borders of Heavy and Godlike. He finally gets the chance to join his mother and his sometimes-ally-sometimes-enemy Chris in the much heralded Godlike division soon, but first he'll need to go through a few more duellers, starting with the one in front of him. Purim is a nasty mage filled with more surprises than a quick stay at Goro's bath, and Hugo will need to end this fight quickly if he doesn't want to face a truly humiliating end. Thankfully, Hugo has the heart, ferocity, and speed of a Karayan warrior, and with these and the True Fire Rune backing his skills with the dagger, the young Flame Champion is certainly more than capable of completing this task.

A stunned crowd.

Blood, everywhere.

The sound of Hugo's head hitting the ground.

What mighty blow could have felled him as soon as the match started?

As the blood from Hugo's nose seeped onto the ground, Purim, now topless, ran giggling up into the stands, and promptly sat in the lap a stunned Sephiroth, giggling, playing with his hair, and calling him a "hotty".

It turns out that Purim, while having the intelligence to think of the perfect way to fell Hugo-namely, taking her shirt off and letting the fact that her opponent is a young, inexperienced-with-women teenage male do the rest-she lacked the courage to pull it off, so she unfortunately took the advice of others, and got roaring drunk.

Ultimately, this worked out fine for everyone. Hugo got to see a woman half-naked, and as such only resisted the urgings of various perverts to join their ranks with a great mental effort and some slaps upside the head from Sgt. Joe.

All the perverts, who had been planning a major strike on the woman's locker room, were satisfied. For now.

And Purim woke up hours later, still sans top, somehow in the ventilation ducts near the Suikoden male bedrooms, with no recollection of how she got there. Upon later examination, Sephiroth had evidently given her his number.

He likes fangirls.

Purim: 45
Hugo: 32
