Season 28, Week 4
Genis Sage
(Tales of Symphonia)

Genis has cut a swath through Light this season, facing the finest warriors the division had to offer, and he has only two more opponents between him and the first Tales championship! The mute sailor Ward may have beaten such fine Lights as Draggy and Chu-Chu, but Genis isn't a little submissive animal! Ward's Massive Anchor is something Genis will have to watch out for, but that's all that the massive sailor should be able to muster against him. Genis is quicker, and his powerful Indignation spell will completely obliterate Ward, metal anchor in tow. The moral of the story? Those who carry ten tons of iron around shouldn't get anywhere near a lightning storm.

Small child, big anchor, nothing much to say, crush the opposition, bring glory to Esther and Laguna, I guess, since there's nothing else to do here, stop asking me questions, go away. Ward didn't have much to say through his interpreters coming into the match, but it definitely tells how the match will end. While Ward is on the slow side, his opponent is even more so, having to sit still for a long period to cast his spells. That should make Genis an easy target for Ward's immensly powerful throwing arm, and when it nears the end of the fight, Ward has the Massive Anchor limit to close the deal and utterly destroy this innocent, feeble, and small - but irritating - child.

Unfortunately, someone accidentally read the wrong issue of Timber Maniacs just before this match.

As anyone knows, these magazines have the ability to change reality. For Ward, anyways.

And so, Ward found himself in the Mushroom Kingdom. Naturally, it was rather hard to get back in time for the match.

On the upside, when Ward finally did get out, weeks later, he'd gotten kissed by a princess, had gained twelve lives, was now twice as big and durable as normal, and gained the ability to throw fireballs.

And no Goombas are ever going to screw with him ever again.

The waiting time for spells could prove to be Genis's undoing here. If he gets Ward into critical range, he has to finish him quickly. His physical attacks ain't gonna be able to do that.

Genis takes hits like...well, like a twelve year old boy. It's not going to take much for Ward to drop him.
