Season 3, Week 4
Palom
(Final Fantasy IV)

This match promises to be short and painful for Locke. Palom boasts a wide variety of status and draining attacks to rip the thief apart with, and his flare spell should roast Locke rather quickly. However, on the off chance that Locke does get a Valiant Knife boosted physical in, Palom will be forced to Drain, as he probably won't survive two of those attacks.

After dispatching a pair of knights, Locke's overdue for a battle with a mage. The good news for the fearless treasure hunter is that his magic defence is a sight better than his physical defence; the bad news is, it's still pretty bad. Still, Locke's speed remains exceptional as ever, which is good, because he'll need to end this fast. A few quick blows from his Wing Edge or Valiant Knife are all he needs to dispatch his Mysidian foe, and with a little luck surviving Palom's Death, those few blows are blows he will get in.

Meeple Lard
With Palom's abysmal Defense, Locke's Wing Edge would probably do MORE than his Valiant Knife. That said, Locke can probably get 3 turns (Wing Edge boosts speed by 7...) on Sluggish Charge Time Palom, and if he can take 1 Flare...he's won. Why? Chances are by the 4th Wing Edge, the Instant death will kick in and...not a pretty site...

Palom: 8
Locke Cole: 9

What could Locke possibly steal that'd give him this match? Palom had to wonder that, since he knew this was the thief that could steal everything up to the clothing off a man's back. However, being a mage, he figured he had no need to worry about that.

He worried even less shortly after the battle began as Locke jumped into the first row of stands and quickly disrobed a few of the more fetching female fighters taking in his performance. Palom, significantly distracted by that display, never noticed as Locke got in close and offed him with a well placed stab.

Palom was brimming with confidence. The RPGDL spectators were about to learn a thing or two about Mysdian magery, and that worthless thief was the perfect target to exhibit on. He had even had a (temporary) tattoo of his lucky animal today. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Until Locke stole his clothes in the opening round. And revealed said lucky animal as an elephant. And revealed that a certain body part of Palom's doubled as the elephant's trunk.

Palom wasn't the type to die from embarrassment. But he did momentarily get stunned, giving Locke the chance to bury the ValiantKnife into his chest.

Unfortunately for Palom, his sister was the type to die from embarrassment. Porom politely declined the RPGDL staff's offers to raise her brother, and his naked body ended up being a major tourist attraction of the RPGDL grounds.
